We checked in to “Peaks for itself” 7/26/24. Upon arrival two beds were visibly dirty. I called and requested that they comforters be replaced and several hours later they brought two blankets. Upon going to the third level I discovered that it was 84 degrees so I called and requested HVAC assistance. A man came and suggested that we close the vents to the second floor so the air could be pushed up. By 10 pm it cooled down to 80. Sometime during the night it began working and cooling down. Around 830 on the 26th the breaker kept tripping to the 1st floor. It randomly resolved in the middle of the night as well. Beginning the night of the 27th the breaker began tripping for the second floor. I called regarding this obvious safety concern and was told that someone would be out today the 28th. Today the breaker will not stay on so I’m unable to use the kitchen area. I left a message requesting immediate assistance about an hour ago with no response. Overall cleanliness of the place is also not up to standards. There was not one clean coffee cup upon arrival, the linens were dirty, dead bugs in the floor. We even caught a lizard inside of the house, probably due to the seal on the door being half way off. The porch furniture is filthy and the grill was also out of propane. I have photos and videos of most of the issues.Business Response

We made a reservation on 7/16/2024 for 7/18/2024 we were unable to make the 745pm closing time to check in and in the paper work it says for a late check to contact them.. so we tried and was texting with them and wasn’t getting any answers.. so I called and when I called the person I talked to got very rude.. so I told them to cancel the reservation.. we received a text that said we were out of the cancellation time frame.. so we called again and was told it was 30 days which makes no sense…so we are being charged for a night we can not stay in the cabin.. we have pictures of the contract stating late check ins can be arranged…Customer Answer

We patronized this business in July. Me and many of my family members have tried reaching out to this company. The conversation with a relative seemed to not have gotten anywhere, so I am reaching out in hopes to come to an agreement. However, as a person that stayed here while having many underlying health conditions, I will say that I am beyond shocked and hurt by the unpleasant experience me and my family faced while being here. I won’t even begin to list the issues because I’m sure your company knows of it already. No one ever reached back out to a representative of my family outside of this outlet, which further shows that this company does not care. We have exhausted most of our options and is simply asking for a refund or a talk with the owner(s). The maintenance guy said that the owner is a man and is very understanding. Obviously, we haven’t been in contact with the owner because all we have heard henceforth are lies and excuses from a female manager. None of our problems were resolved, despite the reports stating they were. Maybe that’s a discussion you all need to have with the maintenance men. No one from the cleaning services ever came out, which was a very important concern. My health was put on the line and I know this is not a true representation of this company. I feel partly responsible because I am the one who recommended this cabin to my family because I stayed in one a while back and it was a pleasant experience. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I truly feel like TT can redeem themselves after having a civilized conversation that should have happened a long time ago; it never had to come to this. A relative said that a free vacation was mentioned. We vacation every two months and have well-paying jobs to ever have our hands out; that was very insulting coming from a business. What we do want, however, is to reach a decision that could benefit us all. My experience is my own and I don’t want to be morphed with anyone else. This is a new case.Business Response

We have evidence that this company said they offered a refund and they retracted after my relatives called them to express their concerns. Not following through with their statement after it was in writing is not right. My family and I rented a cabin for our annual 4th of July holiday retreat, 7/1 - 5/2023. The cabin WAS NOT cleaned! We had to sanitize it before we could walk into the door of the cabin. Each floor had a sausage biscuit in the windowsill with the windows on the lower floors left open as if they wanted a wild animal to enter it and sabotage the place. The kitchen furniture (dining room chairs and the leather sofas) was filthy. The cleaners didn't even bother changing the smoke detector's battery! Therefore, the annoying sound of the alarm chirping interrupted my family's entire stay. We attempted to change it ourselves but we're unable to remove the cover. Each of the showers had mildew. The toilet in my bathroom was not properly fastened to the floor therefore it rocked each time we used it. The carpets were dirty and looked as if they have never been swept not to mention cleaned. The carpet leading down to the pool had cobwebs and dirt in each of the crevices of each step. Several of the tiles in the kitchen were all cracked up. There was a lizard slithering in the kitchen. Those of us who were brave enough to walk on the floor with socks were faced with nasty dirt and hair on our socks after doing so. Further evidence of filthiness. We paid almost ***** to stay there for four days and these were only some of the complaints. It's a shame and we shouldn't have had to withstand such filth for that kind of money. This was a cabin that sleeps 29 people and I'm willing to bet all 24 of us have a complaint to make. I personally am very unsatisfied and extremely displeased! They are unwilling to take responsibility for the horrible upkeep of their properties and therefore are not interested in returning any money to the customer. Once they have your money it’s a wrap, so buyer beware! One day someone is going to sue the pants off of them. They literally have a multitude of HORRIBLE reviews! I wish I would have dove deeper into this company’s history first!Business Response

We pulled all the calls associated with this reservation and the only message that was left was actually the day after departure. Had our Guest Services staff been notified when you checked in that there were any concerns at all, we would have sent back a full cleaning crew to address any and all issues that you reported. We have been in business for a very long time and are always willing to assist every guest with any concerns that may come up, but we can't help with a problem when we aren't made aware of it until the day after departure. What I am saying is completely true and exact. All you have to do is look at all of the other customer complaints and see that this is the total truth. I should have looked at them prior to booking. I have several picturse to substantiate everything that I said. But, no worries, they will never see another dime of my money. Their loss. The cabin was not clean... as a matter of fact it was filthy. For the money that the company charges to stay there, it should have been kept up and at the bare minimum cleaned. Please continue to operate in this manner. I don't care how long you have been in business. Continue operating as you are and you will not be much longer. Focus on doing your job and taking care of your property unstead of defending the fact that you didn't do so.Business Response

We stayed at the cabin Mountain of Paradise Labor Day weekend let's start by saying the cost was over $6 grand and the cabin was not cleaned we had to request a mop I don't know how they could have mopped before our arrival, washer looked like it had not been cleaned in forever, no batteries in remotes only one couch in the theater room, no tv in basement room, trash was under the couch in the family room again clearly not cleaned prior to our arrival when I called she said sometimes they don't look under the couch during cleaning, door knob on the pool room had to be replaced, contracts states no refund for anything so if they don't do there job you are just screwed. The fact that they charge a cleaning fee is funny and not "haha". They are building new units on the resort and the older ones are not kept at the best. Company needs to be made to be accountable for poor upkeep.Business Response

Our team also offered to send the cleaners back to address any/all cleaning issues but the notes indicate that you did not want them back in the cabin. It also looks like we accommodated a requested late check out for your stay, which we were happy to do for you. If given the opportunity we can always address most any issue that comes up during a guest stay. We hope that you had a safe trip home and look forward to seeing you in the future. They did not ask to come back and clean and no one said they did not want them to come back, I was told that sometimes they don't do as thorough cleaning. The house was not as advertised housekeeping you know was not met, the contract has advised no refunds and lack of enthusiasm from the phone person at this point 29 people we just made the best of a weekend we had paid for. You know your handling of business stinks so if you think you satisfied our needs you are mistaken.
