signed contract on 5/27/2021. Gave us an estimated completion date of mid-August. After months of using not being able to obtain the permit I was told the materials would be delivered on 12/20 and project would be started that day. Excuse of trucking shortage so product was delivered on 12/21. While unloading driver had a forklift mishap and dumped material which skidded 50 ft downhill into neighbors yard. Was then told they would reorder damaged pieces. We sent numerous emails needing an update on when the project would start. on 1/13 was told the project would start on 1/17. Project was not started yet the reorder of what was damaged delivered. Sent another email to him on 2/7, letting him know neighbor was complaining about all the materials in front yard since 12/21. On the morning of 2/8 I was told ***** will be there today........no show. i need this deck built. It has been 8 months and 13 days of very poor communication and excuses. I have photos of forklift incident as well as all the materials on the lawn and the cardboard boxes are deteriorating from being in the weather so long. I also have many documented unanswered requests for updates as well as a few emails with excuse after excuseBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/10) */ There have been issues with this project getting moving. With permit delays, product delays as well as weather delays. Then damage to products out of our control. We have men on the job yesterday for short period to address the build and now today 2/10 to start project. I have expressed how sorry I was for the delays but project moving forward now. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/05/03) */ After I refilled last week, they called and said they would have someone here the next day. The next day comes and they kick the can down the road another day. Was told a delivery of product would be delivered from a local vendor on Monday morning, midday was told the truck was running a little late but would be delivered by end of day. Last night they blamed the vendor. As of today, no update and no delivery. We still have return product on our front lawn since December. Needless to say the lot behind us sold, permitted and is landscaping a 3000 sq ft home months faster than our 110 sq ft deck. Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2022/06/02) */ As of May 24 2022 job was completed to both of there satisfaction. I did explain to the customer that 75% of the issues were not our faultInitial Complaint

Date of transaction: May 21, 2020 (based on signed contract) Amount Paid: $6,600 Business Commitment: To remove the existing deck and construct a new deck. Included stain + sea (******* charcoal grey) for entire deck with concrete step. (Please review contract for additional details) Nature of Dispute: The builder has not completed the job from last year. One owner continues to use COVID and family tragedies as reasoning to not complete the job. They continue to dodge phone calls and not communicate on timelines with the project. Both owners are non responsive and use excuses to fulfill their commitment. Due to the lack of response, they have not finished the staining issues on my deck. Business Resolution: We had to harass them on the deck timeline - It didn't get built until September 2020. The company has not made us feel that they care to finish the job, specifically since they have taken our money. I've been calling/emailing (+ photos) since Dec 2020 to get this completed.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2021/11/17) */ We have as of XX-XX-XXXX now re-stained the deck system per Ms. ******* request. Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2021/11/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I sent a text to ***** on 11/12/21 to attempt again for a response. He responded and stated he can send a painter to the house and they arrived 11/17/21. I reviewed the deck and concrete slab with the painter and they were not able to fix one of the wooden boards, due to the sap being stuck on the wood for some time. The staining still made it visible and stands out against the other boards. Regarding the concrete slab: It was not sanded or polished. In addition they had splashed concrete on the bottom of the steps. The painter stated they would take care of that matter - sand it down, take care of the extra chucks around the square concrete block. I'd like the business to finish the staining, replace the one wooden board, and finish concrete polishing mentioned above. If we could schedule one more session, then we can agree on completion for the job. Please reference the attached pictures. This is the day after 11/18/21 - to show progress or current state of the deck. Business Response /* (4000, 22, 2022/01/03) */ We (Affordable Home Improvements have made every attempt to satisfy Ms. ******* from restraining the entire deck system to removing and turning over what was determined by Ms. ******* as a bad board. As to what she wants as a polished concrete step pad at the bottom of her steps does not exist. We do not polish or stain concrete in the least. We feel that satisfying Ms. ******* at this point will never happen. The deck is wood and we (the contractor) have no control over what wood can and or will do.
