On April 25 2023 we had Milliken corp remove our old driveway and replace with a new pour. By January 25th 2024 we have a crumbling mess. Upon calling ****** Milliken and sending him some pics of the driveway he came out to look and take some pictures.Also letting him know we didn't use salt/brine/ice melt which could be verified by our security cams.He sent out the concrete supplier ****** to see what he thought of this since Milliken also had another driveway in *********** doing the same as mine. ****** then got back to me and said he thinks that we must have had salt on our tires from our street and tracked it onto the driveway.I informed him that the city didn't salt my neighborhood streets and one of the cars in the driveway never moved. He then said " Well, you must have had some salt from a main street on your tires" After this i informed him that the driveway is crumbling in areas where car tires never touch. He then said well the salt must have dripped onto those areas. After speaking to several companies to replace this failed concrete, a mixer driver of 8 years, several GC's and also ************************* the street **** director for the city of ********, this is not salt related. This is from a wet finish on the concrete causing the layers to seperate from the inside out. Its called Delaminating. After the water got underneath and froze ,the weight of a vehicle caused it to fail and pop. Not the outside in as salt would do. And salt damage doesn't happen overnight like this did. ***** also stated that they use standard ****** coarse granular salt. The same that anyone can go buy off the shelf. He also stated that if this was salt related, every driveway would be coming apart and not just yours. The owner of Milliken responded to a review of mine and stated that they used the same concrete on a driveway near mine and had no issues. This even more says it was not salt related. The owner refuses to address this issue. Pics are attached.
