We had ************** build a new home for us. He provided the blueprints to the home which clearly showed a gas fireplace. He attempted to change the design of the house by eliminating the sweeping staircase and round columns due to his own incompetence in ordering the needed materials in a timely matter. We did hire an attorney to move forward with a lawsuit had he not stuck to the original plans per our contract. He then proceeded to not allow us onsite until 3 days before closing. After closing we discovered that we did not have any heat in the home due to the incompetent HVAC company he used. The home was supposed to have a gas fireplace but it was not completed or functional and still has not been resolved. This contractor is the lowest of low when it comes to honoring his contract and the extreme low quality of framing, sheetrock, painting, carpet, concrete work and electrical. Our roof has leaked inside the home, the garage and the shop. I've included many photos to show his quality of work, these pictures are all being made public for future home buyers to see. Keep in mind that we have hundreds of photos throughout the home. We have also held open houses to allow home buyers to walk through and see his lovely work for themselves. Despite his lies, incompetence, cheap and lack of integrity, we feel he should be held accountable to his own contract. It stated a gas fireplace, the plans showed a gas fireplace and all that he installed was a metal box with a gas pipe sticking out. I am afraid that if I light the pipe sticking out it will burn my grandchildren and I would have no choice but to deal with **** on a very personal level one on one! He has complained about my signs and my online reviews, however, he's to much of a coward to do the right thing and Honor his contract! A real stellar Marine!

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/02/02) */ In response to Case#******** ********* Home's built a residential home on Lot 5/143 **********************. ********* Home's entered into contract with the ****** to purchase said property. The property was a spec home. I allow buyers to make some changes pick out flooring, paint and other items trying to make it somewhat custom. Mr. ****** treated it as a full blown custom home. When construction started we had a great communication via text email and nothing was wrong. One day I received a lengthy text message sent to his realtor and myself. Ranting and raving about things in the house that were wrong not getting fixed. A few items: 1. Can lights in the master in trey. 2. Data cable not ran 3. Doors jambs were not correct per Dan 4. HVAC vents not ran where they wanted them ran and the list goes on. I would show up and meet with them periodically and every time they wanted to add something, add windows, add shower niche. He would write on the floors and the walls we don't like this this needs to be fixed. They even went to the cabinet place and added a range vent to the cabinet order with out my knowledge. They added 2 windows that were $1500 change. They added a shower niche that was more framing and more labor on tile. Roughly $1000 They added the range hood $500 change The post in the house were 8" round posts on the plans. They had been installed from the day we framed the house as 8" square posts. The ****** walked by them countless number of times with nothing ever being said. I called for a meeting to discuss the stairs. We were having problems with materials. I explained to him, his wife, his son, his realtor and my realtor what my intentions were. Mr. ****** became immediately upset. I glanced at his wife and she hung her head as he carried on. I told my realtor to handle it and I left. The next day I met with my trim subcontractor and my suppliers to see if we could or couldn't make the stairs happen. They told me later in the day that they could make it work. Within 2 days the square 8" posts were removed and round 8" were installed and the stairs were reframed. 2 days issue fixed. I didn't charge for the added windows, the shower niche or the range hood. I feel they were trying to get everything they could for free. Throughout the whole build they had access to the house. I then changed to with realtors must be present. Mr. ****** met with my realtor and his on a schedule visit and he got out of his truck walked around the detached garage and complained about a limb over the garage. Which I saw it and knew about it. He complained stating he couldn't get insurance and wouldn't be able to close because of the limb. My realtor called me and I told here wasn't cutting it down. He immediately stated he would deal with it after we closed. (I thought he couldn't get insurance). I did just have the roof shingled and my tree surgeons were there in 2 days of me calling them to trim said tree. At that point I told my realtor they were no longer allowed to visit until final. I was not going to deal with the Mr. ****** antics any longer. This was my property, they did not own it and were only potential buyers. I also told her was not doing another thing for them. He then made a formal complaint to the ********************. I submitted my sworn affidavit and the Board said I was not at fault and they cleared me. He then proceeded to put 18x24 yard signs up around Coffee County stating I switch and bait, I'm incompetent, my subcontractors were bad etc. He posts comments on a web site for reviews stating same stuff. He then brought my son into it, which he did not work for me at the time I built his house. Why I don't know. I then received an email from my realtor from his realtor stating the fireplace was broke and the heat in the house was not working. My plumber called and spoke to his wife and asked her what the problem was and she said it's broke because it doesn't have logs in it. He knew I wasn't providing logs. Several houses in the neighborhood where I lived did not come with logs. (He also made a point to put his signs at the entrance to my old neighborhood, which I had sold the house months prior. My neighbors would tell me and throw them away). I bought mine and installed them myself. As to his comment about a fire. I'm not sure why you would turn on a gas line and light it. 2nd Complaint: My HVAC subcontractor called and spoke to his wife and said he could make it out with in 2 days. The next day he called his wife and said he was in the area the next day and would she be able to meet to fix issue. She said she was 45 minutes away and didn't work out. Mr. ****** then calls my sub and they work on setting up a time and they agreed to the next morning at 9am. My sub called me right after there phone call and Mr.******** again gets sideways with him stating my guys was threatening and stating he is recording the conversation needless to say my sub was a little upset. The next morning he is there at 5 till 9 and nobody answers the door. I then get a call from my realtor stating my sub was 2 hours late and he was not going to deal with him and he was getting his own competent HVAC guy. Never heard nothing again about it. Needless to say his HVAC warranty is now voided because he allowed someone else to work on it. New complaint about leaks: Never heard about them. He has my cell. My realtor has not heard anything as well. If he send his realtor and forwards to my realtor I will be more than happy to address his issue's. Every complaints that the******** have had they were all addressed very timely. On 3 different occasion's throughout the build I told my realtor to tell them that I was done dealing with them and they could have their earnest money back. At no time they would walk away. We had to extend the contract 5-6 time's due to work not being completed. On every extension they could have walked but didn't. If the house was such a mess why did they buy it. A few days before closing 4 people walked the house and did a blue tape walk through. I even had his realtor do the same. I even spoke with them and he complimented me on the house. The******** did there walk through and taped one spot above the 1/2 bath. All items that we could possibly fix were fixed. They did not even do a walk through after items were fixed. They closed and he even complained to my title company about me. AAGAIN why did he close if he wasn't happy. The day after closing he even put a For Sale by Owner sign in his front yard. With no phone number. Not sure why keeps making comments about me being a coward and he would have to deal with my one on one. I will not comment on his childish comments nor stoop to his level. As in being a Marine, I very proud of it. I had 2 meritorious promotions, Certificate of Commendation several Meritorious letters, Navy Achievement Award several Unit Commendations. Desert Shield and Storm Veteran. Usually the people that complain about the military never served. I feel I have HONORED my contract if their were any legitimate issues. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/02/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept Mr. ********** response and have consulted with our attorney. I will write a full response regarding his lies, deception, theft and incompetence pertaining to our legally binding contract. Mr. ********* had several weeks to respond, however, I will respond much quicker.
