On March 23, 2022 *** ********, owner of Appalachian Cabinets received $10,000 as deposit and partial payment for cabinets. I have called 13 times since then to get an update on when the cabinets would be installed and each time I have been told, "We don't know" and other excuses. On June 6, 2022 I called to cancel the order and request a refund. At that time Mr. ******** informed me the cabinets had been shipped and he would install them June 10-12, 2022. This time passed without a phone call to tell us they were not received. My husband called today, June 13, 2022, to once again cancel the order and request a refund only to be told by Mr. ******** that we are not eligible for refund because the cabinets have been shipped. Mr. ******** has never provided verification that the cabinets were actually ordered, built, or shipped and he has not provided written or digital documentation of the alleged refund policy. Today Mr. ******** stated he should receive the cabinets by June 15, 2022, but could not venture a date for installation. To date we do not have cabinets, any documents supporting the notion that are ineligible for a refund, any verification the cabinets have been ordered, built, or shipped, and no indication that we will be receiving our money from Mr. ******** or Appalachian Cabinets. We have attempted to resolve this matter in good faith barring legal interventions; however, we seek your advice and help in a quick resolution. Legal pursuits have not yet begun, but we have not ruled out that option should this situation not be immediately ended.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/25) */ We believe that our client misunderstood the amount of time that her cabinets would take to arrive. We have been telling everyone that there is at least a 8-12 week wait on cabinets. Her cabinets arrived, right on the 12 week mark. We called her and she still wanted us to install her cabinets and we did just that. Her husband praised my husband, on his fabulous work and attention to detail and even stated that he could see why we were in such demand with our installs. After doing the install, she asked when we might be able to come back and do her kitchen cabinets. Because of this misunderstanding, my husband flatly told her that we would not give her a timeline, only that she was looking at October at the earliest, since we have other jobs still on the books to complete. When we left her home she was very happy and pleased with the job that we had done. I hope that this settles this matter. The response does not accurately reflect the totality of communication, the scope and nature of the work agreed, or the timeline proposed by the contractor. My phone records serve as an unbiased communication log. In conclusion, the work has been successfully completed (pending the installation of small trim pieces on the countertops per Mr. ********'s preference). The work was done with the utmost skill and respect for our home. We are VERY pleased with the work. Please close this complaint as the situation has been resolved.
