In November 2021 I paid Johnson City Press $208.00 for a fifty two week renewal of my daily newspaper to be delivered to my residence daily. In February or March 2022 I did not receive my daily paper. I called the newspaper and talked with a lady. She said the paper would be delivered the next day, I told her to cancel the rest of my subscription, she said she could not do that. She got my number and said her manager would call me, this never happened. Now on Sunday May 15, 2022 again no Sunday paper, it is useless to call the paper to complaint they say their contractor is responsible for delivery, that is their contractor, not mine, I paid the paper not a contractor. I just want what I paid for.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/06/03) */ This second notice is the first we have received on this matter. Upon investigation, it appears a former associate (since terminated for failure to file/follow up on complaints) took Mr. ******'s calls. This morning (06/03/22) a stop notice was entered into our system for immediate delivery stop and an order for refund has been placed in our accounting system. That check will be issued a week from today. Additionally, a circulation manager will attempt to contact Mr ****** today to notify him that his complaint has been addressed.Initial Complaint

The Johnson City Press is a local newspaper. I have paid by bank draft. I realize that during these times finding help can be a problem. Delivering papers is not an easy job because of the hours. I have problems receiving a paper, but I still have to pay for it because I am on bank draft. I understand that bank draft is lower than receiving a monthly bill. I have missed having a paper delivered at least three of four days but I am still charged for the paper because I am on bank draft. If I call they say that they will move my bank draft date one week but I will still be paying for the paper. This time when I called I talked to a third person who was to call me back I did not receive a call back. I was told by one person that they do not have anyone now that can deliver a late newspaper. The point is that they still charge for the paper. Why should anyone pay for something they have not received? A paper a day late does not solve the problem either. They need to adjust the bank draft bill when you do not get a paper. I don't think that I am the only person with this situation. I did not mail this letter three weeks ago because I wanted to give the paper staff an opportunity to correct the problem one more time. I did not receive a paper today. Nov 1 2021 and was told that they would bring the paper tomorrow Nov 2 2021 with the regular paper. I told not to bring a day late paper. I believe that when they cannot deliver a paper bank draft account should be adjusted for the paper not received.
