I rented a house located at 140 Neth Drive and paid a $735 refundable security deposit. I gave 30 days notice of non-renewal at the end of the lease, per the lease agreement and 3 weeks later I have not received the security deposit. Throughout the year of residence in the house there were numerous unresolved critical maintenance issues, the last being holes in the floor with the ground below showing through, and a call for an exterminator while I was at work that the house was being treated for live termite activity. Upon move-in, August 2022, the house was in deplorable condition, including but not limited to windows that wouldn't open, no screens on windows, and windows in bedrooms closed, but gaps so not sealed closed allowing for pests to enter the premises and leaking windows that were never repaired but always allowed water to leak in down the wall during rain. Soft spots in the floors throughout that were reported several times. I have called and requested the security deposit refund several times and am told "call back in a week". The house was left in pristine condition upon move out, floors cleaned, bathroom cleaned, kitchen cleaned, yard mowed, new air filter-nothing like what I had to move in to. I can provide email correspondence from move-in as well as the lease if requested. I also have pictures of what was vacuumed from the bedroom floors upon move-in, the HVAC filter that was unrecognizable due to filth and animal hair clogging it, and pictures of move-out.Business response

We follow the legal guidelines for all properties, and Ms. ***** isn’t special, nor does she deserve any special treatment, even though that’s what she seems to so desperately desire. The procedure is outlined in the lease she signed at the beginning of tenancy. She was sent a reminder for how the move out and deposit works, including the timeline, once she provided her written notice. She also spoke with the local office and different staff regarding the procedure for deposit while she was submitting this complaint following her move out. Nothing was a secret, as it was all spellers out for her, which is what procedure was followed. The inspection of the property was completed following her move out and return of keys, a list was created for any repairs, any amount deducted, and that list of any deductions, along with any refund forwarded to her forwarding address within 30 days of her surrendering the property to us.
