      Good afternoon - I received a call from CBC, phone number they called from was 877-238-0807. They did not state who the call was for, only that I needed to call them or go online to pay my bill. I have no idea what this is regarding, so if I really do owe something, I'd like to have itemized billing, which I can't seem to get them to give me. They gave me account number ***********, and I went online to see if there was another way to contact them, and it's only for payment processing. If this is healthcare related (and I'm not sure what it is yet), In the past, I have been charged duplicates from this healthcare system (they own all hospitals within a 200 mile radius). So unless I get an itemized statement of anything owed, I'm not going to pay them. If this is not healthcare related, I would still like what this balance is for. I work in IT, and I don't blindly answer any questions due to the rise in suspicious activities in email, texts, phone calls, etc. If this is a scam, I'd like to find out as soon as possible. Thank you.

      I rented a room to a guy named ****** ***** around 12 years ago. They keep calling my number for him on and off over the years. I’ve explained he does not live here. They’ve taken me off the phone list multiple times but then in months I start getting calls from them again. This has been going on for 12 years. I rented this guy a room in my house for four months around 12 years ago. I have explained to them I do not have any current contact information for him. I am currently receiving calls Again.

      I have searched both names in our computer and the phone number in our system and I am not locating either name or the phone number listed above in our system.  There are several CBC's in the United States it is possible it could be another company.

      CBC is listed on my credit report with a collection from an old apartment complex that Id already reached an agreement with. However before I completed my payments it showed up on my credit as collections. I did not give permission for my information to be sold. In addition to that I was never contacted by the new creditor for payment options and was unable to continue paying the apartment complex. This has been on my report for years and is hindering some of my current financial plans. Please help me remove this.

      On 4/26/2023, I received a call from CBC LLC regarding an outstanding bill of ~$226.56 for a procedure in November 2022. I don't recognize the doctors that performed the test. I did not have any tests done in that time period. I noticed on BBB, there's another transaction with the same amount and the same CBC LLC company out of Tennessee. I live in Virginia. The gentleman who called my name was **** ****** ***** ********. I asked for the owner and president of CBC LLC: ***** *******. After several minutes of discussing the amount, telling me the company, and account number. I asked **** to have the claimant contact me from the source of the bill. I called to my surprise no answer. This is the second call I received from CBC LLC, the same amount, I suggested they contact my legal counsel. I don't wish to have this on my credit score and stop calling me. That's it. Can you help?

      We have reached out to the original creditor for an itemized statement and we will mail that to the consumer.  We have this account as do not contact but as requested will provide proof from the original creditor once received.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** ********* and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      However, if the response is a summary bill or does not reiterate what tests and when the transaction took place. Also, if the company does not provide the information within 30 days. I, **** ******** will not be liable for payment.

      I received a letter from CBC dated January 3, 2023, attempting to collect a debt that it states was owed to The Urology Clinic in Johnson City, TN. I owed no such debt. I viewed my account on The Urology Clinic web site and it showed that I had no balance due with them. (The Urology clinic sent me a bill dated 12/5/22 and I paid this bill via their web site on 12/16/22.) I sent a letter to CBC on 1/7/23 confirming that this debt was paid. I included with this correspondence a statement from The Urology Clinic that confirmed this debt was satisfied and no balance was owed. I specifically indicated in my correspondence that I was disputing their statement of debt and they should not contact me. On 1/31/23 I received 3 phone calls from CBC regarding this debt. Given that CBC was notified in writing and provided proof from The Urology Clinic that no debt was owed, I believe this effort on the part of CBC was fraudulent as it was an attempt to receive funds from me under threat of damage to my credit report. I discussed this matter with a representative of CBC on 1/31/23. He was rude and would not listen to my communication regarding this matter. I believe this attempt to collect a debt not owed is a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. I am seeking a financial settlement of $100 to compensate for my time spent resolving this matter as CBC did not respond as required to my written correspondence with them and engaged in harassing behavior over the phone.

      The Urology Clinic did contact our office today 1/31/2023 and let us know that was taken care of.  The accounts have been closed with our office and has not affected any credit reporting.

      CBC Collections has attached my maiden name (***** *******) to the account of a minor that I am a stranger to. I do not know ***** - I assume last name ******* but am unsure, existed until I was contacted by CBC. CBC refuses to remove my name because we have the same last name so they believe I am responsible for the debt. After telling them I do not know this child (they advised me of his name, and date and place of service and as of this email still haven't verified me), they insisted I am responsible because of the name. I have been married since 2019 and became a ****** at that time. Their lack of verification prior to releasing information and refusal to remove a third party is inexcusable and I believe may be illegal due to the involvement of confidential medical information of a minor.

      This ***** *******'s phone number got attached to this account.  It has been removed and no other information we have matches this ***** *******.  The address, the date of birth or social does not match her information only the phone number in which we removed from the account once we spoke with her.

      Received a collection notice stating they are attempting to collect a debt for THE UROLOGY CLINIC on behalf of my college aged son who is not even currently living at home and has never even been to this clinic. Reference number is XX:XXXXXXXXX.XXXXX Attempted to call but can only get a "chat bot" to respond. This needs to be removed from my sons credit history. It is NOT his debt.

      Consumer Response /* (2000, 6, 2022/12/05) */ I was able to finally reach someone regarding this matter. The business that charged my son, THE UROLOGY CLINIC, was at fault, not CBC. The clinic charged my son a missed visit fee for an appointment that he claims to have cancelled and then sent him to collections without even trying to reach him to pay the fee. They had his phone number but never called him and they had the incorrect address so even though they "said" they sent statements we never received one.       I received a text from this company welcoming me. Saying I will now receive texts from them. I have no knowledge of this company but from what I have read on here, doesn't seem positive. I would like to know what this text is implying and if they have negatively impacted my credit as I should have nothing in collections.

      I live in Olympia, WA, and in April of 2022, I received an invoice from CBC Collections out of Kingsport TN for the amount of $221.00. This alleged amount was supposedly from my doctor in Olympia, WA for an "unpaid debt." I have two forms of insurance that cover every doctor visit, so there should have been no oversight on my part. I wrote a response back to CBC denying the amount, claiming that the "debt" had been paid by my insurance. Thinking that this was just a simple misunderstanding, I thought that the matter was resolved, until I received a second invoice dated May 2, 2022 that once again asked for $221.00. I got on my doctor's website and "patient portal" to see if there was some oversight on my part, but couldn't find anything outstanding under billing. I next called my doctor's office to see if they could find anything that was accidentally sent to collections, and they weren't able to find anything. They referred me to their separate billing department, which I called and was told that not only was there absolutely nothing that had been sent out to collections, but they had never heard of CBC out of TN and it was not on their list of three collection agencies they normally use. I then called the 800 number for CBC collections and got an automated voice asking for the last four of my social security number. I immediately hung up the phone on them. I suspect a scam, and I want this this "overdue amount" removed from my credit report. I don't know how CBC got my information in the first place, but I want them out of my life and never to contact me again.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/20) */ We are a legitimate company that did collections for Capital Urology they have since been bought out and are using a new billing company and collection agencies. I do show the $221 was placed with CBC for collection. I have reached out to them to verify the insurance and if it was filed. I have the accounts on hold until resolved. I have also removed the accounts from the credit report until we resolve the issue at which time we will contact the consumer by letter. I have already contacted the billing department for my doctor's office, and they have never heard of CBC. The fact that CBC is not even in my state of residence, bothers me a great deal. I also do not appreciate them asking for part of my social security number. They have absolutely no business in asking for that information, nor will they get access to it. To my knowledge, the amount of $221.00 was covered by my insurance companies, and needs to permanently stay off my credit reports. CBC in my opinion is NOT A LEGITIMATE COMPANY, and I will not be paying anything to them. Because of the conflicting information that I received from all parties, I feel that this case is a prime example on why Collection Agencies should never be hired. It is still a mystery to me on why CBC was involved and how they got my information. However, thank you BBB in resolving this matter for me.It is greatly appreciated.
