  The business towed my vehicle on 11/4/23 from my the apartment complex I am a resident of. I did not argue the charges of **** on the vehicle release. Upon arrival at the company I was requested my keys, ID and documents from the car. At the time I did not have the documentation required including registration and insurance as I did not have access to my car which was in their lot. They first requested I have another company tow it out of the lot if I could not provide this despite me having both in the car which I was denied access to as they were holding both the keys to the car and to the lot. I was able to find the documents online in my records to release the car. The company requested cash only which I offered, then they denied to take the cash as I could only provide **** due to the bills that I had not being able to be exact to ****. Since this is a towing company off the main road and I did not have access to my car I could not leave and could not get change which required me to pay with $160. Since they would not produce the change, I offered to have the *** extra go to another customer experiencing similar issues. The business denied to have the bills split between the two charges and also requested the **** from this customer. To note, the maximum fee for towing in the county and state is **** meaning we were not only overcharged but overcharged the state maximum. This business uses the circumstances of holding our cars to prevent us from leaving or producing their initial demands. Afterwards I requested a receipt which the company refused to offer. As a towing company I understand the off books work but there should be a limit to the authority they can have over my property.

  On July 28th/29th I was visiting my partner. I had gotten us all some food and we watched a movie. He didn’t think to mention the fact of visitor parking as I was not spending the night. Upon walking out at 1 AM an employee of this business was just beginning the process of towing/impounding my vehicle. I explained it was my vehicle and he stated I was not allowed to park there after 9PM. I apologized and stated I could leave immediately and save him time and aggravation. He stated it would be *** cash to stop. I don’t carry cash but tried to offer some alternatives before calling my partner, my partner said he had the cash I could come get it but the employee was acting off. He said he’d give me a few minutes but yet continued to connect my vehicle. He almost immediately then said it’d be **** cash because he’d added more. Within 30 seconds to a minute my partner was coming out with cash. Almost immediately the driver and his colleague jumped in the truck to drive away. The driver has changed his story MULTIPLE times. This resulted in a delay of me getting back to my home and then additional travel to get my vehicle back on Saturday 7/29. We had the cash immediately and there was witnesses to the situation and the complex has cameras. Although frustrating initially because I offered a multitude of ways intially to get the cash (including take my key fob, identification, and all to meet at an ATM) and the employee was rude the entire time, the cash was made available immediately and the driver simply refused. This resulted in what initially was quoted as *** costing **** plus extra gas and childcare costs.
