      On July 12 of 2023 First Choice Tree and Lawn Service cut down a hickory tree on my property. During the removal of the tree, damage occurred to our neighbor's chain link fence. I was told by the receptionist that all damage would be repaired by the business. After multiple phone calls over the course of several weeks, the damaged fence has still not been fixed. Each time I speak with the company I am told someone will call me back with an update but no one ever does. On more than one occasion I was told someone should be coming out to check the damage but no one ever shows up. Given that the business has had 7 weeks to begin repairs and has thus far failed to do so, I am forced to seek assistance in this matter. All I want is the damage to my neighbor's fence repaired.

      We received a quote from this tree company to remove trees on our property, remove the stumps, and remove two additional existing stumps from a previous tree removal. We scheduled the service and a crew came and took our trees down in one day. I reviewed the estimate and the quote with the man leading the crew and confirmed the details of the job - the removal of the trees, the stumps they left, and the two existing stumps. He confirmed this was what he had on file for our job. At the end of the day, my husband went to their office and paid the total that we were quoted and asked when to expect the stump grinder to come finish the job. The office said that none of the stumps were included and that we would have to pay separately to have the stumps included, which is not at all what was quoted to us. This was a very large expense for our family and we chose this tree company because their quote included the stump removal, which had been confirmed on the phone and in person with the tree crew. The office staff would not budge and refused to include the stumps in the job we had already paid for. A couple of weeks later an employee from the tree company showed up, unannounced at our home and claimed he was there to grind our stumps because they "were included in the price" I refused to left him on the property until he confirmed this with the office and I had an invoice, in writing, confirming this. Upon calling the office, he changed his story and then said that the stumps are always separate and that he could do them today but would have to leave with cash or a check. I believe if I hadn't been home to see him on our property, he would have ground the stumps out and charged us. Just today, this company called my husband to "collect payment" on having the stumps ground! I am extremely suspicious of this. The tree crew also removed a wire from the electrical transformer to a light pole, lied about the utility company removing it and did not call the utility to fix it.

I do however feel there is some miscommunication that has caused this complaint. Looking at the original quote in front of me. The order states to remove 4 trees in front yard, remove 1 ash tree on side of yard with full clean up for 4800.00. There was a discount applied at that time for 300.00 so total job for trees would have been 4500.00. At the time of the quote ******** ***** only discussed 2 stumps to be ground for a separate price of 200.00. After the Job was complete I tried to process ********* credit card multiple times which failed to process. We accepted 4000.00 cash and discounted job for ******** due to CC not working. When he came to the office to pay cash I specifically discussed stumps with him, and let him know stumps are billed separately. He originally did not want the 4 stumps done according the quote but asked me to have the stump grinder employee price them for him when he arrived to do the 2 that was listed on the quote for a separate price of 200. When ******* arrived to grind the stumps he was informed that all of the stumps was already paid for and called me immediately to verify this information as we do not bill them with the tree work. I informed him that I very thoroughly discussed with ******** when he came to make the payment for the trees that the stumps was not included. Regarding the line from the power transformer. We never touch or deal with anything electrical as this would increase the risk of the tree workers being seriously injured. This is not something our crew is even capable of doing. Please feel free to call our office if we can do anything to help resolve this issue. When arrived with the stump grinder, HE is the one that tried to tell me the stumps had been paid for. I am the one who asked him to verify this with the office. He confirmed with the office that we had not paid for them. He also provided a price that we asked for and I informed him that I would discuss it with my partner. You are also incorrect about the power line, your crew communicated that they would need it moved and they would communicate with KUB. I was home the entire time and KUB never came to my property. But the line was down at the end of the day. It took weeks of calling your office until someone finally called KUB and they came back and put the line back up. Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2022/06/09) */ ma'am sorry we can not have KUB move a line only the account holder can set up a line drop if our crew knocked that line down they did not communicate it with the office or we would have had this addressed immediately and maybe was misinformed the stump payment but we have discounted this job 20% from the initial cost and would like to make you happy but we wont be able to do anything further past the 800 dollar discount you received.
