On February 28, 2022, my car was running properly, but the check engine light came on so I brought it to Madison Muffler to diagnose the issue. They told me there was a fuel line issue that needed immediate repair, so I agreed to have them fix it. When I picked up my car on March 4 after they had worked it, my car shut off twice in the middle of my drive home and would violently jolt each time I began to accelerate - neither of which issue existed before Madison Muffler worked on my car. When I brought it back in for them to fix once again, they said they repaired the wrong thing and that I would still be charged $****** for the initial repair on top of whatever the new issue was. When I asked what the new issue was, the shop owner and mechanic admitted they couldn't find the issue and that they needed to take it to the dealership for them to find the problem. At this point, I told the shop owner I planned to take my car to a different mechanic since he was obviously incapable of resolving the issue and that I wanted a full refund for damaging my vehicle. The shop owner refused to give me a refund and proceeded to take the keys out of my running car and hid from me in his office so I couldn't leave with my car. After a heated debate, I finally got my keys back from him and told him how appalled I was at his lack of professionalism. He then attempted to bribe me with a discount if I agreed to give him a 5 star review on ****, which I denied.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2022/05/18) */ Hi, This is ******** *** from Madison Muffler&Auto Repair, I have refunded ******* *** two times, can not double refund. 1.3/1/2022, ******* *** dropped off his 08 Honda ***, We diagnosed and text him an estimate, and he approved. 2. 3/4/2022, He drove the test and paid the bill of $******. 3. 3/6/2022, He called and complained the engine light was on, I told him that all repair work has a warranty, bring it back, and we will check what the problem is. IF WE CAN NOT FIGHT OUT THE PROBLEM I will send to the honda dealership diagnosis. He promised that he will come back soon. but he did not do it. 4. 3/14/2022 I got an email from ***, he put a bad review. 5. 3/16/2022, He showed me the invoice paper of another auto repair shop. I paid back him $******,(check number ****), to cover his cost. He promised that he will delete the bad review but he did not do that. 6.3/22/2022 He showed me another repair invoice, we made an agreement: I paid back what he has paid me (labor and part $******, check number 1817), and he delete the *** bad review, It was done, no more refund no more complaints or bad reviw. 7.4/10/2022 I got the letter of chargeback. and asked for $******. I HAVE PAID BACK ANYTHING THAT I CAN PAY, Should not pay it back because he did not bring back his car, so we did not have a chance to check the problem.
