Dad's has a tractor and trailer that our insured destroyed in an accident. We paid our towing and storage policy limits, the insured made a deal to trade the trailer to pay off the remaining balance of $5,000 on the bill. We sold the salvage on the tractor to another source. Dad's has received our checks, the trailer is there, but now he will not release the tractor to the salvager until they receive the title for the trailer. This title is held by the lien holder and we have no idea or control as to when they will send the title. As a result, we have lost our $16,900 salvage, the ability to use that salvage firm any further, and must now attempt to recover the lost salvage from the insured as a forced retain unit. Further, we are going to have to pay the salvager for a dry run on their second trip out, as Dad's never advised they still would not release the tractor once they received the remaining check for the towing.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/10) */ Yes, we did have an agreement with the insured to settle the remaining balance of $23,132.71 for $12,000.00 and the title for the trailer. The trailer has an approximate value 0f $5,000.00 which would be $17,000.00 with a remaining balance of $6,132.71 as a loss for our company. This accident occurred on January 6, 2022. In emails the offer was accepted and made to appear that the title and payment would be sent at the same time. If we release the tractor without the title that is not the agreement. We have been trying to settle this for over four months the only real value is in the tractor, and it has been made very clear to the insured that it does not leave until paid in full or an agreement reached. The person who came to retrieve the tractor was informed that once all terms where finalized he would be notified so his second trip was on him. And for the trailer why did "they" enter into an agreement without having the lienholders approval or knowledge and make it appear that the title would be sent with the payments. I want both tractor and trailer gone and was even going to take a loss but without the title this puts a halt to everything.

This towing company is one of the worst businesses I have ever interacted with. My vehicle was towed from the apartment complex where I live in the correct spot, along with a few other vehicles that were in valid spots corresponding to their apartment numbers. The complex management suddenly decided to reseal the parking lot last week. They gave us little notice and confusingly contradictory instructions on where to park. When I discovered that my truck had been towed, I got to the lot as quickly as possible. My first "red flag" moment was seeing the tow fee of $195 in addition to several other charges of dubious necessity and propriety. I took several pictures of their posted prices, and the tow fee for a private property impound was $155. The signage is quite clear in this regard. I kept detailed records and have made notarized photocopies of the receipt paperwork given to me by the business, which detailed charges of over $300 including two days worth of storage fees although the vehicle was in their possession for approximately 24 consecutive hours only. In addition, the area where they kept my truck was absolutely littered with sharp debris. There were even cracked car parts and sharp glass pieces directly behind my vehicle. I have detailed photographs of this available. Upon receiving my vehicle, I noticed that the engine sounded strange, and about four miles down the road, the check engine light came on and began flashing intermittently. Upon reading the DTC's with an OBDII tool, I discovered that there was a misfire in the engine. It is now barely drivable. I understand that they did not drive the vehicle, obviously, but this problem was not present prior to their handling of it. I am having it services and fully examined for damage. I am considering disputing the charge on my credit card as a result of this issue due to property damage and whatever it takes to repair my vehicle will be what I am requesting that this business reimburse me for.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/05) */ Mr. ******'s vehicle was towed for failure to move for parking area maintenance. The complex had the option of relocating the vehicles and them paying for relocating the vehicles or towing the vehicles and have the vehicle owner(s) pay for the removal. The 1998 *** Sonoma was towed using a flatbed tow truck there was no way the motor could have sustained any damage by the tow. I feel the vehicles age my have added to Mr. ******'s issues with the vehicle.

I would to like to file a complaint against dads towing company based out of Madison TN. I believe my apartment complex has a under the table arrangement with a single person or the towing company as a whole to tow vehicles that are not parked in a proper parking spot. On 3/14/22 my car was towed from my apartment complex at 11pm. After going back and forth between my apartment complex and the towing company I believe that my car was towed illegally without the proper signature from the person who called the towing company. I spoke with my office manager and she claims that there was no call made at 11pm on the 14th to have my car towed however when I talked to the towing company about the situation they informed me that the towing company has to be called before hand AND the person who called must sign off for the car to be towed. When I brought this to their attention the paper work to have my car towed was no where to be found.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/25) */ Contact Name and Title: ***** ********* Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: *****@dadstowingservice.com Ms. ********* is correct in that Dad's Towing and her apartment complex do have an agreement to tow illegally parked vehicles. Her vehicle has been towed three times for different parking violations. At the apartment complex there are signs with Dad's Towing information on them to be able and locate your vehicle if impounded. Several apartment complexes use our service due to having to keep fire lanes open, front of dumpsters unblocked and so residents do not park on the grass just to name a few. The apartment complex must request us to come and remove vehicles and sign for the removal of the vehicle. Apartments use security, maintenance person or management to request Dad's Towing. I understand her frustration in this matter as many apartments have limited parking spaces. Dad's Towing is just providing a service to the apartments

My Truck and Trailer was towed from a ******* parking lot on the evening of 10/28/21 where I was told it was ok for me to park. I noticed my Truck and Trailer was missing from the ******* parking lot on the evening of 10/29/21. I immediately go into ******* to ask about my Truck and Trailer, they inform me that Dads Towing had towed it. I call Dads Towing to find out the location and price for towing my Truck and Trailer, they inform me that I owe them $1082.20 for towing my Truck and Trailer 12 miles to there site location. I called a few other Towing locations in the city of Nashville,Tn that offer the exact same services and was quoted half the price or less than half the price of what Dads Towing charged me to retrieve my Truck and Trailer. I didn't want to pay the outrageous tow bill but had no choice, since I need my Truck and Trailer to operate my business. I am confused how Dads Towing can charge me $1082.20 double what everyone else in the same business charges to tow my Truck and Trailer 12 miles. I feel I was over charged and I want this rectified. Thanks

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2021/11/30) */ Mr. ***** had parked his tractor and flatbed trailer at ******* located at **** Lebanon Pike in Hermitage, TN. Dad's Towing was requested by *******'s agent to impound both and remove them from their property. Each had an impound fee of $375.00 being over seven thousand pounds each, a daily storage fee of $65.55 with tax included for two days each and a state admin fee of $35.00 each after 24 hours. These are regulated fees for Private Property Impounds. I understand Mr. *****'s frustration in having his tractor and flatbed trailer impounded they were not approved to be stored at or on ******* property and if he did have approval, he needs to contact the ******* for having it removed. Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2021/12/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept being charged $375 each for Tractor and Trailer tow, They only hooked up once, why would they charge me for Tractor and Trailer when they are together. It was a single tow, and my Truck was only there 1 day. They towed it and I was there the very next day to pick up my Truck and Trailer when I noticed it was missing from *******'s lot. Those are Outrageous fees to tow a vehicle 9miles. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2021/12/06) */ ******* agent notified Dad's Towing at 4:57 pm on October 27th and advised of tractors and trailers illegally parking on their lot. ******* gave the owners till midnight to move said vehicles. Mr. *****'s tractor and trailer were both impounded on October 28th at 2:04 am, storage does not start until after being on our lot for two hours his storage started at 4:04 am on October 28th, the second day of storage was charged on October 29th at 4:04 am, he removed both of his vehicles on October 29th at 8:34 pm thus being charged for two days of storage. Impound fees are flat fees with no mileage.
