I have had the worst possible experience with this company and highly DO NOT recommend them. I brought them my ski back in June of 2020 and was told the engine needed to be replaced. The repairs cost me $3,951 and I did not get the ski back until Labor Day weekend of 2020 due to them "being busy." I was told by the guy in the office that I would have a two year warranty (on my rebuilt sbt engine they installed) and when I asked for the paperwork I was told I only needed the receipt because they would take care of everything else. I was told to only run Yamalube and I even had them convert the ski to premix so it would be more trustworthy. I run the ratio 50-1 just like Payne's told me to. The ski was also nasty covered in grease and the engine bay was never cleaned out. The next summer of 2021,18 ski hours later, I was told the power valves went out. When I took the ski back to Payne's, I was told I was only given a 30 day warranty because PAYNES REBUILT IT and he would not repair it. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PAY ALMOST 4K FOR A 30 DAY WARRANTY??? I go to Douglas Lake and at that point I didn't even have thirty days to ride it as the lake water was already going down. At this point, I am very angry because he rebuilt my motor and it isn't a sbt like I was told (then why was the price so high...?) When I proceeded to tell him what his office manager had told me, he said that the man no longer worked for him due to "issues." He decided to fix my ski for me for free, but "now we're even." It is now summer of 2022, and my ski engine has locked up AGAIN. This is the third year I have had this ski and the third year the engine has locked up. I think this all due to Payne's Powersports and their poor workmanship. If you want your ski to constantly mess up and never have it for the summer, please take it to Payne's Powersports. I would give 0 stars if the review was possible.
