We were on vacation and our car was totaled. I don't know who called the tow company, but they were called while we we taken to the hospital. The accident happened on a Friday night, so we had to wait until Monday when they opened. We ended up going back to ******* on Tuesday. The car was obviously gone through and property was taken. One box looked like it had been opened by hitting it with a hammer. Only certain things were taken. I think it is disgusting, if not completely dishonest and unprofessional to take advantage of people that are in the horrible situation of a car accident. We just wanted to see what was salvageable, and to see the state of our belongings, that we're not thrown out during the accident was disheartening.

We were doing some truck repair at MHC Kenworth, MHC didn't have parking for our trailer so Ray from MHC came to my driver and told him to go and park at Maces parking lot. We were thinking this is a lot MHC uses for there costumers and we are allowed to park there. We dropped the trailer at about 5-6pm and we went back to pick it up at about 5-6pm next day so trailers been parked there for about 24hours. When my driver got there Maces wanted $350 parking fee. We were not aware of the packing fee otherwise we wouldn't park there, When MHC send us to park there they didn't mention we need to pay to park there and when we dropped the trailer Maces also didn't mention nothin about the packing fee. When i asked the Mases Owner why they didn't say that there will be a fee if we park there he said maybe he forgot (good excuse to charge someone $350 for 24hours parking fee). We called MHC to but *** (the guy who send us there) was gone for the day. We had a loaded trailer so we couldn't wait till morning and had to pay the packing fee. They dropped the fee to $250 do that what we paid.So we have been send there by MHC and if there is a packing fee Maces needs to collect the payment from MHC not us, or at lease let us know when we got there that we can park here but this is the fee so we can decide if we want to park or go elsewhere (we definitely wouldn't park there for $350a day).

We are not sure what MHC says when they recommend a customer to park their trailer at our lot, but most trucking companies know they can not park anywhere for free, we offer a secured lot and my boss did drop the charges $100.00 but we do charge for storage anytime a vehicle is brought here. My apologies for any misunderstanding.

I am rejecting this response because: No one ever mentioned anything about the parking fee. I dont know what MHC and the owner of the tow yard talked between them before they send us to park there, but we've been send to park there by MHC as this was a yard related to them and we are allowed to park there and when we showed up to drop the trailer the owner of the tow yard new we were sent there by MHC but no one ask us to pay or let us know there will be a parking fee, if anyone would let us know that we will need to pay to park there and how much is the cost so then we can decide if we want to accept the fee and park or go elsewhere we wouldn't have this problem now. The owner of the tow yard field to let us know about the parking fee and this caused all this problem, not sure he did it on purpose or just forgot but when we showed up to pick up the trailer and he asked for the payment i asked him why he wouldn't let us know about the parking fee when we dropped the trailer and he said "maybe he forgot". That not professional and if he forgot this is his problem. We wouldn't park there if we would know this will cost us $350 a day. So all this could be avoided if the owner of the tow yard would be professional and do his job and let us know about the parking fees. Not to mention how ridiculous is $350 parking for about 24hr and we had to wait about 3-4hr for him to come and open the gate so we can get the trailer. Even he drooped the price to $250 at the end its still not fair to charge us for this.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

I can not say what they were told but we are not in business with MHC we just happen to tow for them and we do have a secured lot that some companies do store their trailers here when their trucks are being worked on. I am assuming they drove their trailer to our lot, it was after business hours our office is open from 9-4 M-F  but they did not ask about fees or my boss would have told them . He did reduce the charges trying to satisfy the customer .

      Complaint: 20960387

I am rejecting this response because: Exactly ****** and MHC does business together and they talked before we were sent there. The point is they both failed to inform the costumer on how thing work and we end up in $350 per day parking lot without even knowing it. MHC failed to inform us and make it clear that we need to talked with ****** and check the storage conditions with them in stead just telling us go park there. ****** failed to inform us about the storage fees when we showed up there. They both failed to provide basic information and mislead us. To us this looks like ****** keep it quiet on purpose so then they can charge us this huge and unreasonable parking fee cause no one would park there for this kind of fees. If i go to any paid parking yard now, and tell them i wanna park they will tell me how much this will cost me right the way before even opening the gate and ****** just opened the gate without asking any questions (beside confirming we were send by MHC) let us park and then ask for $350 for 1 day parking. This is called a SCAM.

      Sincerely,
