I purchased a 2015 ***** Malibu at JR's Auto sales in *******, ** on 7/29/23. I put $1500 down and pay $377 a month. I also purchased extend warranty with Superior Protection Plan. The car has been in the shop for over 6 times for the same issue. Check engine light and reduce power engine. I have not been able to drive the car because it is always in the shop and cutting off. (Reduced engine power). JRs only replaced the fuel cap and small battery in truck to try and fix the problem. I paid for the fuel pump out of pocket. With these things being repaired the car still was not fixed. It did not resolve the problem and JR'S referred me off to another shop which I went to ************************** ******* on *************************** several of times for the same issues. First time replaced fuel cap, second time repaired a value, third time repaired timing chain, and now they saying it needs an engine. I have tried to return this vehicle for another one to JR's 3 days after purchasing it on July 29, 2022, and they say it could not be returned because the contract has already been signed and registration filed. Out of all the times this vehicle has been to the shop for check engine and reduce engine power vehicle is still doing the same thing. Reduce engine power comes on the car stalls and shuts off. My contract with this vehicle does not end until sometime in ****. The car is not gone last. I went back to JRs and informed them that the car needs and engine and that the warranty denied paying. *** told me it is nothing they can do because the business has new owners. I want JRs to exchange this vehicle with another one, pay for the repairs, or give me money back. This car was not and should not have been for sell for purchase. JR's, claim they sell quality cars, but what I purchased is not a quality car. It is a lemon. I have attached all receipts from repair shops, vehicle contract, and service contract. I hope and pray that you all can help me get this resolved. Thanks

      Hi,

I have attached additional receipts for needing engine. I thought I uploaded it with initial email. It must not have upload correctly or an error occurred.  Also, I read at the beginning where I stated I purchased vehicle on 7/29/23. That is a typo error. Vehicle was purchased on 7/29/22. I also mentioned correct date further down in compliant. Thanks

Your vehicle was financed through Credit Acceptance, and it had a warranty. You mentioned to me that you took your vehicle to another repair shop, where they attempted to address the issue using the warranty, but unfortunately, the problem still persists. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you."

I am rejecting this response because: Jr's **** sale sold me a lemon that was financed through Credit Acceptance. In my initial compliant I uploaded all receipts of the failed attempts to fix the issue with my vehicle that I purchased at their dealership. **'s tried to correct the issue several of times and then referred me to take vehicle to a bigger service department in which I have an email of shops that they sent me stating that accepts the warranty that I purchased at the time of purchasing the vehicle. I even asked a few days after purchasing this vehicle to exchange it for another vehicle and they would not. " Stating that my contact was already signed and that I could not exchange it. Ever since I had this vehicle, I have had the same issue (Reduce engine power and the vehicle shuts off as driving). This vehicle is unsafe to drive and will cause a major accident putting my life and other life in danger. This is unacceptable on their end because they sold this vehicle in the condition it is in and the warranty that I purchase that will not even cover the issue that I am having. Again, if you review all receipts that I have sent, it clearly justifies the issues I have been having every since I purchase the vehicle.  I just want the vehicle fixed, replaced, or money back out of this contract. How can they expect me to continue to pay for this vehicle for the next 5 years and it does not operate correctly and is not safe to drive.

      Sincerely,

      ******** Person

We acknowledge your concerns outlined in your previous communications regarding the issues with your vehicle. Even though the car was sold AS IS we preformed goodwill repairs to the vehicle.

Upon reviewing the other shops invoice PNCS593749 on 10/6/22, it appears they identified a gas cap leak, test drove and cleared codes and no codes after replacing the fuel cap there were no codes and no notes In regards to any other work needing to be done at that time. 10/19/22 (P0455 code) and replaced a purge valve (invoice PNCS594184). Then 8 months later 6/29/23
The other shop invoice ( PNCS602634) replaced the timing chains and gears.

We understand the ongoing challenges with your vehicle, especially after the other shops replacement of the timing chains. Following our discussion and considering the service agreement payment to the other shop, we recommended reaching out to them for further assistance, as the issue persists despite the significant investment.

We genuinely apologize for any inconvenience you've faced.

      Best regards,
      JRs Auto Sales

I am rejecting this response because: JR's ****** that they sale quality cars, however, the car that I purchase is not a good quality car. The vehicle never left the lot before the check engine light came on. **** who was the person at the time put the vehicle on the machine, which he indicated that the light came on due to a bad gas cap. Yes, the replace the gas cap the same day as a good will. However, before I could make it home, the check engine light came back on. I could not turn around and take car back because they were closing. I called and they stated to bring car back the next morning. I took car back the next morning and again as good will they tried to correct the problem in which they replaced battery in trunk which did not resolve the issue. Took car back again and they stated it was the fuel pump and which I was told not to use the warranty since I had just purchase vehicle and it would not look good. So, they instructed me to pay the price of fuel pump which I paid out of pocket. As a goodwill they said that I would not have to pay the labor cost. That did not fix the issue. Took car back again and they referred me out to a bigger shop. I am grateful for the times that they did try to fix the issue, but the car was having problems before leaving the lot and **'s said that the problem was fixed, but clearly it was not. They even sold me a warranty that they ensured will cover repairs which did not. I feel like they told me the issue was fixed just to sell vehicle and so I could leave off the lot stuck with a vehicle that is not reliable at my cost. This vehicle never operated correctly and JR's should be held accountable. Out of good faith I allowed them to try to fix the issue and took them for their word and now I regret doing so because it is like it is my problem because I signed an as is warranty. If I have known that when the check engine light came on while still at JR's was more than a gas cap, I would not have never left their lot with this vehicle. I took them at their word the that had fixed the problem. I am only trying to exchange vehicle, JR's pay for repair to fix issue, or out of this contract. This vehicle is not safe to drive and is putting lives in danger when shutting off due to check engine reduce engine power.

      Sincerely,
