Purchased a 2017 ford fusion for 19,515.27 on 06/24/21 and dealer has yet to provide me with a license plate. I have been using a dealer plate all this time. I keep getting excuses from them. I contacted the credit union that financed the car and they do not have the title. The dealer is telling me different stories on why they can't get the title. I thought the credit union would have the title to secure the loan for collateral. Well I may have to report this credit union to the BBB also. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/25) */ Contact Name and Title: *** ************ Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ***@shoptristar.com TriStar Auto purchased this vehicle from *****-********** Auction. We have yet to receive a title for this vehicle from the auction. We have been in communications with *****-********** (***) doing all we can to get the title from the state of Georgia. There is ZERO reason for us to withhold the title in order for us to get the plate for Mr. ********. We want him to get his plate very badly. Don't understand why he says he keeps getting excuses because that has been and is the ONLY reason we haven't been able to get the plate. We understand his frustration because we are EXTREMELY frustrated as well. But, this is not our fault. We want the title just as bad as Mr. ******** does. We are on his side and been trying to explain to him that we are on the same side as he is on this. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/05/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) My wife received a call from Tristar auto about a month after we purchased the car stating the license plate was in. She gets there and the salesman, who is the only one there doesn't know where it is, maybe a mix up with a different customer idk. Anyway our 1st 30 day temporary plate is close to expiration. Salesman says he will have another temp plate mailed to us. The 2nd temp plate expired 08/23/21. We go back to tristar on 08/27/21 to get another plate and the salesman is the only one there. He puts a auto dealer plate in the back window which expires 05/2022. We were told a few months ago that the woman they bought the car from had applied for a lost title. Now they state it was bought from an auction and never received a title. I wished they had told me they had no title, I would not have purchased the car. I still do not understand how a dealer can legally sell a car with no title. I financed the car thru Leaders Credit Union. I contacted them and they do not have a title to the car. How can Leaders finance a car with no title? I contacted my auto insurance agent to make sure I was covered. He said I was, but if something happened and the car got totaled, the insurance company would have to have the title to the car before any payments paid. I have done my due diligence on the car purchasing contract, too bad TRISTAR AUTO and LEADERS CREDIT UNION has not. It seems to me there are all sorts of legal ramifications going on. Maybe I'm just a little impatient, it's only been what ten and a half months. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/05/20) */ We finally received the title from the auction company and overnighted it to Mr. ******** with a return package for him to return the dealer tag. We understand him being concerned throughout this process and are glad to have it resolved for all involved.
