On May 25, 2024 I was in a car accident where I was rear ended Memphis police Department called flag city towing to tow my vehicle The tow truck driver did not put my car in neutral upon pulling it, which caused front in suspension damage. Ive been trying to get flag city towing on the phone to take care of the Front end damage that was caused due to their negligence its day three and Im still waiting for a callback from a manager. I would highly recommend not using this company.

On 5/25/24 we were called out by Memphis Police to tow a vehicle that was involved in an accident. Customer called on 6/14/24 stating we caused damage to the vehicle. As you can see from the picture the vehicle sustained heavy damage in the accident. Unfortunately when vehicles are involved in an accident we have to do whatever is necessary to clear the road way. We cannot be held liable for damages to a vehicle that is involved in an accident.

I would like to make a complaint regarding Flag City Towing. My father was in an accident tonight due to the inclement weather conditions. His truck slid off the road and hit a tree, and he had to be transported to the hospital. The city/police department called Flag City Towing to have my fathers vehicle towed to his home, which was less than five miles away. The company demanded a $375 cash payment, and then they left his vehicle in the middle of the street when they found out that the keys were with my father at the hospital. I will say it again. They left the vehicle in the middle of the street not on the curb as expected. They blocked half of the road for oncoming traffic, and they refused to come back to move the truck. We were forced to call someone else to move the vehicle. This city should not be recommending this company in familys time of need and/or crisis. I did include the pictures as proof.

You can see in the attached pictures where the vehicle was located at the scene, thus the cost. We do not set the prices for MPD calls, the city sets the prices and we must abide by them. As far as dropping the vehicle at the house. You can see in the pictures that the house is on a curve and our driver even told them he would need the keys to straighten the wheel, but the owner refused to give him the keys. Per our driver, this is what he noted in the system on scene that day "customer refused to give me keys to straighten out the steering wheel. My truck was sliding bc I was dropping at the middle of a slope. Customer also refused to move vehicle that was blocking me from dropping properly. So it came off the bed any kind of way." Also, it was icy and extremely slick outside at the time of the incident. If provided the keys, we could have better assisted the customer.

On July 22,2023, my car was in an accident and was towed by Flag City Towing. When it was towed it had a license plate, 4 tires, a hood, engine, intact windshield and personal articles. I received a notice on August 11 and promptly called them with no answer. In Monday I called again and was instructed to come down to 961 ******* to sign a waiver for the insurance adjuster to look at the car. I went to the towing company located at **************** When I went there they explained the car was at another location and they would call me when it arrived at the correct location. The next thing I knew the insurance adjuster sent us pictures of the vehicle on Aug 17. The license plate was removed, no tires, hood, engine hole in windshield and personal articles gone. It was then sold to copart, ******* . I tried to reach out to ***/***** but was always told he was busy. On August 25 I called and over heard him say I dont care what she does. sec ****** has been violated / Sec. 6-88-11. I want the cost to replace our license plate. They have been deceitful and malicious. It would be Ideal to have the ******* police department not to call them to tow for the citizens of *******. Because they dont care.

We spoke with the owner/complainant on various occasions. The release that she signed was not for an adjuster to come look at the car it was a release that allowed the insurance company to take possession/ownership of the vehicle. When the vehicle came in it went to one of our 7 lots. After the owner came in and signed the release the car was transferred to *********** location and within a hour of it being at said location, the insurance company had another tow company there to take the car. The owner was unable to get the tags because of the time frame and how quick the insurance company retrieved the vehicle. After emailing back and forth with ***********************, I apologized for the misunderstanding and confusion and offered to pay for the replacement cost of her tags. She accepted this and was given a check.
