Misrepresentation and Unfair Contract Terms! I am writing this complaint to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding the misleading information provided to me during the first interaction with your staff. I purchased a $15-day pass with the understanding that I could seamlessly transition into a membership, and the initial $15-day pass would serve as my first month. To add to the frustration, the manager, who assured me that I could cancel at any time, has now left me in a situation where I discovered I am locked into a two-year contract, despite not having used the gym facilities for the past 3 months. This discrepancy in information is not only ethically wrong but also places an undue financial burden on a college student like myself, who has tuition to cover. I strongly urge you to rectify this situation promptly by allowing me to cancel the contract without any penalties or fees. Such practices not only tarnish the reputation of Olympus Athletic Club but also raise serious ethical concerns about customer relations.I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and expect a prompt resolution.Business response

Per your request, we changed your term from 24 months to 18 months at the point of signing. All memberships are signed on a tablet that your complete, you choose a membership that works best for you.

My minor child who was 16 at the time was able to sign a 2 year contract for a gym membership with this establishment. When I became aware, I researched her bank statement and some months they had actually deducted her fees twice. When I called and asked to speak to the office manager about canceling the contract since she was a minor and that there was no parental consent for the contract, the office manager told me she knew what she was getting herself into. My daughter also informed me that they knew she was not of age because the person who signed her up had to adjust her birthdate on the contract. If they had used her drivers license they would have known she was underage.The gym also provided her a copy of the contract which I also have a copy of and there is no signature. The office manager told me that I could call and speak to the owner *****, but every time I call I am told he is unavailable to speak to me. Ultimately, they sent my daughter over to collections. Considering she is a minor, this contract should have never been allowed and I am concerned that it is going to cause issues with my under age daughters credit. Please help us resolve this situation. We have been members for years. We re-signed a contract in January. We are needing out this contract and they don't allow buyouts or anything. We've learned that they have been charging additional fees without anyone's permissions to a lot of accounts for several months in a row sometimes now. There are lots of complaints coming in. We do not trust this business and want our contract terminated.Business response

I went to Olympus Athletic club in 2020 just to try it out. I told the person who was signing me up that I only wanted to try it for a month. So I was gonna pay cash. I did not want to use my card because I did not want them taking money out of my account every month. Because I did not want to go for more than a month. They person working there insisted that they could not accept cash at the moment and that they were not gonna charge me every month. 2 years later they continue to charge me. I left a review on yelp that the owner of the establishment harassed me about and lied to me saying that she would take care of it. She has not. I've been trying to work with her for over a year now giving her the benefit of the doubt that she would take care of it. But she hasn't and they continue to charge me $57 a month. I haven't gone to that establishment for over 2 years now. I've even changed my debit card and somehow they still charge me. I cannot afford them to keep charging me every month. I don't know what else to do. Nothing seems to work.Business response

Mr. **** signed up for our monthly membership and it went delinquent within 30 days. We reached out to member for past due amount, no response from member for several months. Mr. **** called in several months later and was told past due balance must be paid and 30 day notice due in person. No action was taken on Mr. ****'s part and no past due amount was ever paid.
