My vehicle was towed to *******-Taylor transmission repair on 08/27/22. Repairs were begun during the week of the 08/29/22, and supposedly completed on 09/02/22; the cost being over $2,800. That night I noticed that the the problems had not been repaired, i.e. selecting park from drive, it requires nearly a long time to engage the drive gear. And the transmission was still not shifting normally, as it did when I purchased it, some 3.5 years ago. On the night of 09/03/22, after driving my vehicle for approximately three hours, it began to slip out of gear on corners at approximately 10 miles per hour, twice. I immediately parked the vehicle. When notified of the problem, the manager of the Murfreesboro, TN *******-Taylor shop responded that if there were a problem with the transmission, his technicians would repair it, "no problem". I asked that the tow be paid by *******-Taylor, and this was done. I also asked that the fully covered further repairs be performed by the Franklin, TN *******-Taylor shop, in an attempt to save money, as it is closer to where I live, and, apparently, given that my vehicle is now in Murfreesboro, this request was ignored. Now, I am told by the shop manager, **** ****, that the reported malfunctions cannot be duplicated. And I was asked if the transmission was hot at the time of the malfunctions. The engine and transmission were running at normal operating temperatures when these malfunctions occurred. Thus, it stands to reason that more time is required to test it, and the transmission will require another disassembly, to facilitate a proper diagnosis. The repairs are supposedly covered by a two year, twenty-four thousand mile warranty.

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/09/23) */ It is certainly very frustrating for both our customers and our shops, when a recently rebuilt transmission is in need of additional repairs after testing seems to show the unit is working properly, and released to our customer. It appears Mr. ***** experienced one of these cases. We are certainly glad Mr. ***** contacted the manager at our Murfreesboro Shop immediately upon noticing something wasn't quite right. Our manager ***** **** addressed the problem as stated by Mr. *****, and towed the vehicle to the Murfreesboro Shop where the Warranty was issued, and thus repaired. Mr. ***** did not have to worry about "attempt to save money, with a shop closer to where I live" as his car was picked up in the hotel parking lot and towed to our shop in Murfreesboro, then back to him with absolutely no charge. Our shop manager ***** **** was helpful, concerned and promptly handled the situation giving Mr. *****'s vehicle priority. After assessing the unit, our technician found a valve body sticking causing the slight slipping Mr. ***** was experiencing, our technician replaced that valve body, under warranty. Unfortunately, Mr. ***** has contacted our shop, saying there may still be problem. And per Mr. *****'s request, his vehicle was towed to our Franklin shop, for a second set of eyes to look into the problem. We are confident that Mr. *****'s vehicle will be returned to him in proper working order, should anything go wrong with our transmission within our warranty period, rest assured our shops will take care of the problem promptly. Mr. ***** has a valid Two-year/Twenty-four Thousand Mile warranty, as stated, and thus far our team has made Mr. ***** and his vehicle a priority! We appreciate Mr. *****'s business and here to assist him with any future transmission needs on any of his vehicles. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/09/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I am grateful for the solicitude of the vendor on my behalf. However, I have yet to receive a hard copy of my warranty. Also, although the transmission is functioning better than after the first two attempts by the Murfreesboro shop, it stutters or hesitates at high speeds, 65-70 mph, in fifth gear, or overdrive. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2022/10/05) */ We will get another copy of Mr. *****'s warranty mailed out to him Immediately. And again, we appreciate Mr. *****'s business.
