Customer service is sad and on-line access is even worse. I can't log-in on Saturday and customer service line is not answering. Good idea but poorly executed. I'm moving as soon as I can get somebody to answer the phone!Review from Marilyn B

I opened an account with alto and made a cash contribution, days after I had urgent need of some of the funds for investment opportunity and quickly requested a cash distribution, I can tell you up until this moment 03/02 my request still says pending initiation while, (4 business days after requesting). I have seen reviews about this company online and it breaks my heart to admit what people said is true, they will roll lots of tapes around getting your money, STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLEReview from Robert L

Don't let Alto near your money.! During the summer of 2021, it took many calls and emails to get a simple transfer of my money to my IRA. It took weeks to do what my other custodian does in 24 hrs. Now, it's October 2021 and they're repeating the same delaying tactics on another transfer. I'm hearing the same lies and getting no response to messages left on their answering machine. It seems that they're operating out a kitchen with inadequate operating capital. Inept doesn't begin to describe these people. It's pretty sad when a company needs the meager savings of an 80-year-old veteran. BEWARE!Review from Brad C

AltoIRA is the worst IRA account custodian you could ever have. They charged my mother for a wire transfer of $15,000 from her ************ IRA account to her ****** brokerage IRA account, but they screwed up the account number by a digit and had an invalid account number. That meant that ****** could not accept the $15,000 and sent it straight back to Alto. My mother, a retired school teacher, was waiting on the funds and asking Alto where they were. Alto went dark for several weeks and then eventually made a whole bunch of excuses and scared my mother into thinking the money was lost. It ultimately took them 2 months to finally realize that the money was still in their laps and that they had used the wrong account number. It took Alto 73 days to finally refund my mother for their failed wire transfer of her money. The company showed zero urgency to track down the money and fix their mistake. I would never suggest that anyone use Alto as administrator, custodian, or in any capacity after this terrible experience.Review from Lauren S

Since Alto became the IRA custodian for ************ IRA accounts it has been a disaster. First the accounts were inaccessible for weeks due to them being hacked (for which I sure don't hold them responsible.) However, since then the customer service has been terrible. It takes many business days before money transferred into Alto show up in my account. It takes many weeks to try to get money transferred out of my Alto account to other institutions. When I ask them about ithe transfers they have repeated lied as to when the money would be transferred. Most of the time they won't answer the phone. My whole experience with them has been frustrating and downright terrible.
