Kevin came out and looked at my ** electric range as the *** was having trouble and not picking up inputs from the buttons. I opened the oven up, pulled it out, showed him the issue, mentioned the exact ribbon where the inputs come from. He looks at it for a minute or two before going to his van to check something. Comes back and says it will be about $530 for the repair. You know what he wrote down on the bill? "Computer broken". I told him I'd seen the part for fairly cheap and was hoping to maybe even just replace the ribbon, but he gave me the typical "If you see it that cheap let me know cause I'd sell 'em". Then he drops that the service charge for looking at it for a minute and saying "Computer broken" is $139.95. He also mentions he ONLY accepts checks or cash. I haven't had a business not accept a card in like a decade. My wife got home and mentioned paying with a card to literally buy strawberries at the farmer's market. He very forcefully demanded the money saying "Well how are you gonna pay me?". Eventually I contacted my wife and found some cash, but the whole experience was incredibly sketchy and I honestly feel scammed and robbed. I can only assume he doesn't accept other forms of payment so that people won't dispute the charges through their bank or online service. He also has a totally different company name than the one on his website.
