If I could give them zero stars, I would. I was charged $20 PLUS a $1 fee, for parking at a grocery store for 56 minutes. The lot is two hours free. The company refuses to do anything about it. I sent them my receipt from the grocery store proving I was making a purchase. They still charged me and refused to refund. Beware of this company. Avoid their lots at all costs. Once you give them your phone number and card they apparently can charge whatever they want with no consequences.Review from Frank L

I have a recent experience with METROPOLIS Parking / Payments....( I'm not sure if there is a distinction. ) On 7-25-2024, I reserved/prepaid parking at 164 Larned St , Detroit MI., a PARKWIZ site. Immediately adjacent and convening, ( I later learned) is a METROPOLIS Parking (154 Larned St). I was issued a violation citation from METROPOLIS Payments for unpaid parking on 'their' property. ($110.00 in total if one can believe?) The absence of any obvious distinction in operators, by vitue of signage or on-site attendant(s) is conspicuous, as is the vastly divergent fee schedule $20 vs $45 for parking spaces within "inches " of each other. ( penalties being other damning evidence ). A reasonable, objective person would have to deem this blatant deceptive business on the part of one or both business entities. I have, since, also become aware of other similar and even dissimilar practices, reported on various customer reporting sites. I would urge BBB to affirmatively denounce such activities.Review from Karen T

This is the worst most crooked company and the prices are so inflated they are ripping people off. I received a parking citation because they changed their polices and didn't inform me of the change. therefore I got an email saying the citation was waived. then apparently yesterday I received another citation and my vehicle was towed before I even saw the citation. I know they have given out tickets to company employees where the parking is paid by the employer. they are crooked and over inflated prices. I ended up paying for two tickets (including the one that was waived and the one I never saw. and was charged a 170.00 towing fee. for towing about a mile down the road. these people are crooked and money grubbers. they are killing business and tourists to downtown Roanoke Va. with their business practices as well as their pricing.Review from Gerardo G

Sudden Charges on Credit Card ------ I recently visited the ******* ********** on July 12, 2024 in Houston, there is signage everywhere for Metropolis and parking. So, I scanned the sign to set up my parking, and the system then asked for my credit card number. Once I put it in, it automatically charged me $10.99 related to a 2023 visit to ***** ****** Houston. I did visit ***** ****** in 2023. However, there was no signage regarding parking, at least not anywhere it could be easily seen (if it is there at all), nor was it communicated. But my complaint is that the system will charge you without first notifying you that it wants to take a charge. I reached out to Metropolis with this complaint and requested a refund. I also asked the question via email: what if a car had a new owner? For instance, it was a used car, and the standard answer they give seems to indicate that the current owner of the car is responsible for any previous visits/charges, even if the car title has changed. So, my issue is that charges for parking should take place on the day of parking, not six months later. At that point, anyone could own the car, plus there was/is no time to dispute a visit that was months ago. I did ask to be able to communicate with a supervisor, and the representative did not escalate my complaint. There is something shady about a company that will take charges months later without any warning.Review from Alison R

I had to give a 1-star rating, but we all know it should be negative stars! Based on my own experience and reading hundreds of reviews on various platforms, I have figured out how this company operates. I did everything according to the instructions on their app and website. I entered my license plate, credit card and pre-selected my time. Upon leaving (before my time was up), I confirmed that my visit was up on the app and was notified that I would be charged $6.56 on my credit card. They intentionally never charged my credit card and then sent a violation including a $70 fine!! The violation even states "if you do not dispute this violation within 30 days of receiving this notice, Metropolis will assume the ticket and monies owed are valid." This puts the burden of proof on the consumer!! I agreed to the terms of payment and assumed that they would charge me for the visit by way of using their app and entering my payment information! When I contacted them, they said I entered my license plate number incorrectly. What **! I looked on the app and saw that it showed that I had registered my vehicle in their app in October 2023, eight months before the incident. I have never used their lot or app before June 2024!! How can anyone trust such an unethical operation.Review from Timothy W

After parking at a lot in downtown Nashville that was operated by LAZ Parking. The QR code worked and informed us that parking was a total of $4.83 for 2 hours. We were surprised by the low rate and had considered coming back to downtown again in the future and parking at the same lot. We did not exceed the 2 hours. My credit card information was given and charged. Now we received in the mail a violation bill for $93.30 from METROPOLIS. ($23.05 Unpaid Fare + $70.25 Violation Fine). Why not charge the card given before attempting to send a shake-down letter with a violation fine? Lawmakers MUST pass legislation to clamp down on this abuse! Do not park or even drive into a lot owned by Metropolis. After performing a little research it seems they are not good folks. One star is clearly too much for this company.Review from Cindy C

Unethical company. Couldn't get the kiosk to work dispite multiple attempts. I was going to pay on the way out but the gate was open. Then I get a parking ticket in the mail for triple the cost. Told them I'll pay for parking but not anything else. I had to speak with multiple people before someone agreed to wave the extra fees. They did add on a $6.00 "processing fee" on top of the $21.00 I was charged for literally 2 hours of parking my car.Review from AnthonyF

This company scams people by charging their credit card without accurately showing the amount they will be charged or the time they will be given in the log. They charge your card first, then show you the time limit and amount. I needed 48 hours in a lot, I scanned the QR code when I arrived but never saw anything about the amount and time. I figured it was at the end, so I put in my car information, CC, and then by the time I saw it my card had already been charged. I emailed them immediately and they said they don't do refunds. This company uses a deceptively designed website to prematurely charge people and then refuses to give refunds. DO NOT PARK THERE.Review from Steven M

This company is as close to a scam as you can legally get. The payment system for their parking garages plain does not work. The app and QR codes don’t work/wont scan and that’s if you even see the 1 sign they have on the outside of the building. Furthermore, I was almost locked out the garage because of the faulty QR code you need to enter the garage. Finally, a couple months after this instance, they have the gall to blame me for this instance and charge me 80 dollars in parking violations. Don’t use these garages and let this company simply go under is what I say.Review from John M

On April 25, 2024 I entered the parking facility on the campus of ****** Hospital **** ****** in Louisville KY. The gate arm was in the up position and other cars were entering the parking facility so I entered. Looking for a way to obtain a ticket or some other means of paying upon leaving the facility with nothing clearly marked. Then leaving the facility sometime later I once again look for a means by which to pay my "fair" parking fee but the gate arm is allowing cars to depart without any payment. I follow suit and depart. Then weeks later I received an extortion letter (parking ticket) in the mail for $42.25. $7.00 was the parking fee and $35.25 was the "violation fee." This is nothing more than a company who looks to extort money from the general public. I eventually paid a reduced fee of $27.25 to get them off my back! This company is impossible to talk to they like to hide behind a keyboard and use prewritten responses to your inquiries. This really makes ****** Hospital and **** ****** look bad and it gives me yet another reason to NOT go into Downtown Louisville!
