I called RR to come fix my water heater that had very good hot water, but the amount of hot water was much lower than (after 2 yrs it was turning colder much faster with less use) Tech showed up and said its old and you need a new one. I asked him to check the elements first as he hadn't even opened up any panels and just read the label on it. He then opened panels and told me it was a single bottom element, and it is probably not working well due to calcium build up that he sees all the time. He suggested to save money and no warranty that he would change out the element to fix the issue as the old element " may be causing a miss to warm " during the day. He never checked the thermostat settings, never checked the voltage going to the heater or continuity. He then said he was finished, and I paid $******. " You will have hot water in 1 hour." I was told. $ hours later I turned the water on, and it was **** warm at best and ran cold a few minutes later. I went to the heater and observed the coverings were never put back on securely (one sitting on the heater). I turned the temp up and the next morning still just barely warm water. I proceeded to call the manager and after a few stories about needing replacements all over Nashville due to the hard water, he agreed to send out another tech and actually check the voltage and continuity along with the thermostat. This tech was much more thorough and even drained the tank to check for calcium, but we watched clear clean water flow out of the hose that was attached. He stated that all voltage was right on as well as continuity. He turned the temp down stating that the high temp would burn calcium and not the water..... I called a local, much more educated business owner that read on the tank label that this the water heater calls for a special element that is much higher on watts than a regular one. I paid $****** for an incorrect part that made the issue worse. Left a message at RR but no return call yet.
