On 08/15/2024 I went to shoneys on ****************** in ***********************. When I walked in a kind woman greeted me and asked what Id like to drink and she knew because I frequent the restaurant. She asked another server - do you want the skinny mini today and the server replied oh no Im not going to deal with that b**** today and went on mumbling something else I could not hear. I suffer from a terrible eating disorder and major depressive disorder so hearing these comments I could hear loud and clear and a server refusing to serve me is extremely unprofessional not to mention hurtful. I told her you know that I can hear you right? While I burst into tears. I just entered treatment for my eating disorder and depression because Im only 85 pounds now Im in a terrible place so hearing this absolutely broke me. When I mentioned I could hear her she didnt even look at me and I said it again, and she didnt look at me continued folding napkins and ignored me. I left in tears. I emailed their customer service line and called their phone number as well with no answer or response.Business response

Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention. Both our Shoney's Business Consultant and the franchisee have spoken with ***************************** about this restaurant visit. This guest concern has been resolved both with this customer and at the local ******************** level with the team.Initial Complaint

August 21, 2021 I dined at Shoneys in Richmond, ******** on West Broad Street. While there, I noticed they had a sweepstakes box marked with the Shoneys logo. On the box was marked "Your chance to win a $*** Shoneys gift card", nothing else. The waitress told me it's a promotional from corporate, and it's a no questions asked; if your name is drawn, you get a $*** gift card. February 13, 2022 I received a call from a phone number out of ******* ****, ********. The woman on the other end said her name is ****** and told me on behalf of Shoney's my name had been drawn. She said I not only won a $*** gift card but a 3 nights stay at the *********** resort in ***********, ********. However, there was a catch. In order to obtain this gift card, I would have to attend a 90 minute seminar at the *********** resort and there might be restrictions placed on how I'm able to use the gift card. They refused to just mail me the gift card and said I would be required to attend this seminar within 5 weeks from February 13th. I'm simply too busy to attend within 5 weeks. I contacted Shoney's corporate offices, and also Shoney's of Richmond. Neither wants to take responsibility for this, even though it had on the box the Shoney's logo, and was within the walls of the West Broad Street Shoney's location. The director of marketing, *****, claimed he knew nothing about the boxes until after I filed my complaint with corporate. This very much feels like a scam. Was Shoney's of Richmond cooperating with the *********** resort to get people to this seminar? I would like to speak to someone on behalf of Shoney's who **** take responsibility for this and handle this appropriately.Business response
