If I could give a minus rating, I would. The salesman came out, went over the premises, and understood everything we needed. A 10-camera security system in our house and shop. Told him we had high speed internet. No problem, we needed to run a cable to the shop. The salesman was to drop off the correct cable/cables so there would be no problem later. He dropped off one cable after being reminded to. It was obvious when the technicians came that they did not like the salesman and did not want to do his jobs. Everything the salesman told us was wrong per the technicians. Our internet upload speed was not enough to handle 10 cameras, so we had to increase that, there should be two cables not one and the other one will have to be installed also, (Underground with the first one). Technician said he would not do it. We needed to have an electrician install outlets around the house to plug the cameras into. Technician said we would not have security in the shop, only cameras. They said the system we had was wired wrong (It has worked fine for 15 years). After two days of telling us everything wrong and changing out part of the inside system, and putting us on their system, they advised they were pulling out and not finishing the job and that we could keep the inside equipment they installed. We ask them to put our system back the way it was, they refused. The next day their boss told us they would not be back and they would not put the system back. Therefore, ADS has left us with NO security system. And they are very unconcerned about it. Poor way of doing business. Don't understand how they can have such a high rating when they leave people the way they do.Review from Ed W

Unable to sign into her account to view our system. Kept getting false alarms. Sat on the phone with for three hours and they wanted to send a technician out for $150 and we’re stuck in a three-year contract and it’s never really work as advertised. The problem started within the first six months of our contract and I’ve just left it off stuck paying the bill.Review from Stefan E

I purchased their priciest system at the time around 10 years ago. They damaged my home during the installation, which took weeks, and didn’t heed most of my requests. They could never get the system operating consistently. Their response was always “they must be working on the cell towers”. They would change out parts but with no sustained improvement. Their service men were always friendly but became less helpful and professional as time went on. I finally put in a DIY alarm and automation system in 2 days which functions perfectly despite the “cell tower” issue. Around $10,000 was spent during my interaction with this company.Review from C R T

Dealing with ADS Security was one of the worst customer service experiences in my life. It started with a missed install appointment but the real frustration started when the accounts payable department got involved. The house was vacant pending a renovation. I asked that all bills were sent to my office. Evidently, that was hard to understand and the bills were sent to the vacant house. Weeks later, I am hit with late payment notice even though I did not receive an invoice. I tried unsuccessfully to set-up an online account for autopay. First, the website was down then there was an issue with my being out of the country. This went on for several weeks. I had to call ADS to pay my bill over the phone. Finally, I decided to terminate the account. Signed the termination documents and asked for a final bill. Paid the final bill thinking that the entire sad situation was done. Received a new letter 12 weeks after canceling the contract with a balance due and a note stating that if the balance was not paid in 14 days the matter would be turned over to a collections agency. I found the letter insulting. To threaten a closing proceeding without ever ask a customer to pay an invoice is not the way to treat people. Normally, I would not take the time to post my thoughts on something like this but the letter pushed me to share my experience. I my opinion, ADS's website and customer service are severely lacking. I wish I could give ADS a "NEGATIVE STAR." The problem I have with this company is that they do not know how to troubleshoot nor do they care. We had two of their alarm systems at our HOA, where one of the two would constantly issue fault alarms, letting you know that there is an issue with the control panel. ADS allowed this to go on since the unit was installed in 2015. ADS was called many times to address this problem but all they do is send a technician and do NOTHING! And then have the gall to charge a service call. From day one this issue existed and they allowed it to go on. On every fault the alarm company would call the customer and not the service company, ADS. Now that we have had enough we have switched companies. The new company troubleshot the same alarm panel and was found to be defective and will need to be replaced at a cost that will exceed $2000.00!!! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! ADS is a very honest and responsible security company. Their Customer Support is unmatched. Their Alarm response team is very responsive and always let me know when I have an alarm, be it real or accidental. I am very candid about this: I have been with them for over 5 years now, and I would not trade them for any other Security System company out there.Review from Robert G
