This title company came recommended from our real estate agent ****** and he has been using them since 1996 so I agreed and went with them. About 1 week prior to the closing I emailed both Alice S****** (Title company employee handling the closing) and ****** stating that there is no mail going to the house we are closing on and everything would need to be mailed to my home and address provided. Both recipients of the email confirmed and an email chain started. Fast forward about 1 month after the closing I emailed Alice to check on the title and deed. She then emailed me that Beth B**** mailed it out. Of course I asked to what address and her response was "Beth mailed it to the closing address." I then responded to that email with copy and paste of the email date and time and contents of my email showing where I wanted all the title/deed items to go to. Alice then emailed me a PDF version of the paperwork and said we will have to wait until it comes back in the mail. I asked if Beth would call the post office to see if it is there but after 3 emails which she ignored I finally got a response saying that nothing is going to be done and the PDF copy should work for anything I need. They did offer to mail it to me if they receive it back. There was never once an apology or any empathy from her at all. ****** my real estate agent apologized numerous times for the title company but neither Alice nor Beth did.
After all this I called tax assessor department for the house that we closed on in order to update the tax record. They told me the seller ***** would receive the bill and there was nothing I could do. I then contacted ***** because in the closing documents she paid me for the year's taxes. When I told ***** about this she told me the title company knew about this and told her all about it but yet again there was no communication to me at all from Alice or the title company.
Overall I am very displeased with this entire process and no remorse from Alice is just the icing on the cake. I would not recommend this title company to anyone.
