Anyways, he takes me to check out and asks if I wanted to get caught up on recommended maintenance. It's 7 am and I'm trying to get back to work, so I didn't think to check the owner's manual. He recommended about $700 worth of repairs, of which, only $200, the brake fluid actually needed done per the manual. Fuel induction service isn't recommended at all routinely (the tech had't looked at the car yet) and CVT transmission service is only recommended after inspection (again hadn't happened yet) and has no routine replacement timeline. He lied to my face, and I was dumb enough to buy it. Then, he called and said brake pads were below replacement level in the rear - this is believable - but when I asked him why no one mentioned that 5000 miles ago, he had no real answer. So I got popped for $1100 total when the amount should have been no more than about $600. He also lied about needing two new tires (I can read the tread wear). We'll never be back. And yes we bought the car there. I'll take the blame for being fooled, but they are unethical, lying, rude crooks.
