I had a contract with this company to build a 10x20ft deck and a 60-80 ft wood fence (see contract). Many of the 4x4 supports were not cemented in the ground. The cross beams were 1x4's. The top of the fence was very crooked and the bottom was starting to warp, since wood slats were too long (see picture). Nails stuck out thru the back of all the fence (see picture). The first windy storm with the wind blowing up from the hollow would have blown the fence down. The deck was partly supported by non-treated wood, some not cemented in the ground, and some were not. When the deck was taken up, all the supports had to be replaced. Most of the deck top, and both railings were not treated wood. The beam that was supporting the metal roof was warped. The metal roof was not attached correctly and thus the water from the house roof had to go over a 1-3 inch hill to get down or pour down at the end on the new metal roof (see picture). There was a 4-5 inch gap between the roof and the existing gutter (see picture). So that's where the water dripped down. The new metal roof leaked. I contracted for gutters and downspouts, 3 gates, these were not done. NO electrical was done. A lot of the wood was not treated. There were two employees and Goodman that did the work. They hooked up a TV on the front deck; leave a hole inside 1 ft x 3 ft and then 6 ft x 5in. I had to get a contractor in to fill/patch this humongous hole. And the wires were hooked up wrong. I am not a carpenter, but after having it checked out and paying for the work, it was a crappy job. Pictures are included. Beforehand, I checked Goodman out on BBB and there was nothing. I requested a copy of his insurance papers and received them. BUT, he said he had hired subcontractors which were not insured under the policy. I had to hire another contractor and he took the fence, roof and deck down and rebuilt it. Mr. Goodman's excuse was that his employees stole his tools and they were subcontractors. Mr. Goodman was there, ordered, delivered and helped with this job. He knew it was a **** job from the beginning. I could not get to the back yard due to the stairs being taken down. There was also a large amount of clean up I had to pay for. I am 80 years old and he took advantage of my age - it was a scan. I paid him $11,220 for this job. There has been no resolution or payment on Goodman's part. I have plenty more pictures if needed.
