Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/18) */ I ran a service call for Miss ****** in early February 2022 for a noise issue. Her son had heard a noise coming from the unit so they called for service. I insisted it was too far for me to run service call to call a local heating and air service company in her area. I had gained trust with ****** and her and she begged for me to come inspect the unit for she did trust me and didn't want to offer trust to another heating and air service provider. Upon my inspection that evening , the unit was working properly.the return air filter was very very clogged with dirt and needed replacing so I replaced it with one she had on hand. A week or so later she text saying she heard an unusual noise so I sent her a website describing how a heat pump operates in defrost cycle in cold temperatures during the winter. I asked her is the unit making this kind of noise that is shown in the video of a normal heat pump running through a defrost cycle. She said yes .so upon that statement she made I thought that she clearly understood the noise she was hearing was defrost cycle. I did not tell her I would return and insisted an hour and a half one-way drive was much too far for me to run service calls. The only reason I went on a service call in the first place was her husband ****** had passed **** and January I went to the funeral and spoke with her there. When she called for the initial service call , out of the goodness of my heart , I responded . but like I have already stated I insisted that that was much too far of a drive for me to run service calls, to find a local heating and air service provider that she can put her trust in.
