I am an 82-years old. In early April 2023 I wrote 2 checks totaling $5050 for front and backyard landscaping to **** ********, address : ***** ******* ***** ***** ** ***** ************** He promised to start the following week after providing the proposal and accepting my money. He never started the project, making excuses about being behind in other customers jobs. Lately, unforeseen medical events with my 82 years old husband happened and surgery left him blind in his left eye; he is diabetic and a heart patient and in poor health; I was unable to sleep at night stressed by too much going on and not hearing from the landscaper after having given him over $5050. I called him and explained that we may have to move to assisted living and that this had taken too long and stressed me out too much and I felt I could not handle going through with the project but that he could keep the $350 for the proposal. He said he would have to think about it. A week later I called again and left a message asking him to call me back. I have not heard from him at all. I am now calling once a day and asking to return my money. He has not called back at all. I feel he is being unprofessional and dishonest.Business response

She signed the agreement, paid the deposit, and then cancelled the project. That's what happened. We were planning to start but she called and cancelled. The deposit is there to ensure that we are booked up for work.
The terms of the agreement were that we would start her project after we were finished with the project we were currently on. I let her know that if we got rain, the project would be delayed. We got 4 days of rain so it pushed her project back.
We did not just take her money and go - she cancelled the project.
