We purchased a 2010 Chevy Traverse from Dunfee Auto @2704 Wears Valley Rd in Sevierville last week. We told them we wanted something reliable to transport our toddler grandchildren in when we get them (we have 4 under the age of 3). The next day I had gone to pickup two of my grandchildren when a warning came up that said "Oil pressure low, stop engine". We also noticed the night we got it that when you tried to adjust the radio volume that it would turn up full blast. Our mechanic has had it and we heard from him today and he has determined that the motor is bad and the only solution is a new motor. We contacted ** ****** as his wife told my husband last week to keep them updated. We did, but he has offered no assistance. My husband even asked about refunding him even half of what we paid which was ***** but he said we can't buy it back from you. We chose them because their auto rental company had good reviews. It appears by the photos in their office that they are grandparents too so they should realize the importance of a safe vehicle. I was the only source of income for over 3 years as my husband was waiting that long for his disability approval. This car was his way to assure I had something safe for my grandchildren considering my 2007 Hyundai needs a good bit of work. I realize there is no lemon law for used cars in Tennessee but surely something can be done since this car lasted less than 24 hours for us. We went on 1/6/2024 to get the car from the mechanic who is .7 miles from our house thinking it would at least make it home in a 2 min drive. Nope. The engine dropped at the top of our hill and had to be pulled home. They can have the damn car back and refund us. I don't care if it's "As Is". You don't sell something to someone that doesn't last even 24 hours and knowing it was to transport toddlers. They even had photos of what appeared to be grandchildren in their office. How do you even sleep knowing you put children danger.
