I am on vacation and went to go horseback riding. I called and made a reservation, showed up and their horses are being abused. They were tied very tightly to a post in the sun for hours, the guides would continuously beat on them and they had no water in their buckets. Before calling and making a reservation i checked the site and have proof that the sites say refunds are available because I didn't know my weight. Explained over the phone that I am recovering from an eating disorder so I have not weighed myself and do not have access to a weight scale. ***** the owner says that they will weigh me there. I get there and they say they can't accommodate me but refused to refund me. Desk lady had me call her and explain and she said it's not my problem that you're too fat to ride and goes on saying that i am the issue and she will not refund me. She then yells at me saying it's my fault and that i won't be getting a refund. i paid 140 dollars for 4 people to go and they would not go without me because they were minors. Once again she shouts that i won't be getting a refund and that I should lose weight.Business response

Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/08/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept the owners response. There are so many lies on their response. I did not throw any card because like I said, the office lady was very nice to me so I handed the card back after speaking on the phone with the owner because she was very rude and disrespectful and I was NOT going to support a business like that. Speaking of TripAdvisor, go on there and take a look at all of the reviews. They are all speaking about the horse abuse they witnessed just like I did. There is a video that was on the news of the owner allowing an employee to abuse the horses. Many people have posted online that they had to get a refund from this owner, Their site doesn't say no refunds, they didn't tell me that over the phone, and she never told me a weight limit until i had already paid and shown up. My last point is that the pictures online are beautiful, looks like a huge farm, in person when you show up it's a run down shed and the horses look so sick and you can see through everything and they most definitely didn't have water. I'm not the first person to have to do this, and there is so much proof online of her abusing her horses/letting them be abused. This business needs to be shut down.
