I had a horrible experience at Portland Animal Hospital located in Portland, **. yesterday. I called the Thursday prior to my dog's visit for a dental cleaning. The female staff member I spoke to quoted me a total price of $320 which included bloodwork for my dog, since he is older. I went to pick my dog up yesterday afternoon to be shocked that I was being charged $89 more than I had been quoted over the phone. My dog didn't need any extractions or anything other than a routine cleaning and bloodwork. I went into a room to speak to the owner/animal doctor about the issue. His demeanor was angry and hateful as he repeatedly questioned me. I couldn't remember who I had spoken to, and I didn't recall the person's name who made my appointment. Does anyone remember everyone they talk to several days later? I don't. He acted as if I was being dishonest about what I was telling him. I was appalled by his unprofessional behavior. He never once apologized for what happened to me at the hands of one of his employees. Instead, he made me feel as though I was being interrogated for a crime. After going back and forth with him about the price being incorrect, I ended up paying the $409 not feeling I had any other choice. My advice to anyone who uses this facility is DO NOT TRUST THEM. They will lie to you to get you in the door and then charge you more than what they told you your bill would be. Make sure to get a name of the person you talk to who makes your appointment and quotes you prices. I would even recommend recording your phone conversations with them as proof. I would hate for anyone to go through what I went through here and this is my reason for posting this, BE CAREFUL!! I will be filing a report with the BBB and posting this on other platforms as well, to get the word out!!
