Much can be said. I purchased a commander 7100 and contacted (tried to) them several times regarding wired meter activity with no reply but one, saying to use only that email. Bought Nov 2023. The unit seemed to be doing fine ( used about an hour a day) but here in May 2024 I was by the unit and fell asleep. But I awoke to smoke coming out of the unit. I took the radio out and it is okay. I tried their built in charger and it started smoking again. I took pictures and tried numerous times.Initial Complaint

I placed order #**** for the Hardened Power Systems JuiceBox ******** charging bundle plus accessories on September 27, 2019. After many weeks, the unit arrived and functioned well until January 2022 when I had to replace the two sealed lead acid batteries because they wouldn't hold a charge. The new batteries cost $91.98 with tax and shipping. In addition to that problem, the 3-D frame had always fit tightly in the ammo can and eventually, the cut out for the folding solar charging panel developed a crack and finally broke. I contacted the company on April 13. 2023 about an out of warranty repair. On June 14, 2023, I finally received an email reply and was told it could be done so I shipped the unit to them on June 17, 2023. It is now December 7, 2023, and despite repeated phone calls, emails and attempts to contact someone who can provide a status of the repair, I have heard nothing. I would like to have the unit repaired and returned (at my expense) but at this point would accept the unit back in its unrepaired condition. Hopefully, your organization can reach out to them on my behalf to arrange a prompt, satisfactory outcome.Customer response

The unit was repaired and returned to me on December 11, 2023. It functions normally and the repair is quite satisfactory. This complaint is resolved and can be closed. Thank you for the help!Initial Complaint

I ordered one of their Commander **** units in early June 2023 via their website. A few days later I saw the same item, used but in excellent condition, along with an IC-****, antenna tuner and a **** microphone and headphones, for $1600 on QRZ.com's for-sale forum (new value of all of these together - ~$2500). I e-mailed Hardened Power Systems and asked to cancel my order if it hadn't yet shipped (it hadn't, as I had received no e-mail or other notification of shipping, and I never received the item). They didn't respond to the e-mail, so I called them a few days later - the woman I talked to said she'd take care of it. No refund. A few weeks later, I disputed the charge via my credit card company. Despite the fact that they never shipped the order, they refused to issue a refund!!! Now I have to go through a secondary appeal through the card company. Ridiculous. I never received the item. There should be no need for a dispute here, it's an open-and-shut case. I would like a refund as soon as possible. Their order number is *****.Customer response

They finally, after repeated badgering by my credit-card company (after initially coming up with a nonsense response to the first inquiry), refunded my money. Thanks for your effort, it's appreciated.

I PURCHASED A JUICEBOX G3 FORM HARDENED POWER SYSTEMS IN NOVEMBER OF 2021, THE BATTERIES ARE NOT HOLDING A CHARGE WHICH HAS RENDERED THE **** NOT USEABLE, MULTIPLE EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT STARTING ON 7/18/22, WITH ONLY ONE RESPONSE ASKING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON. NO COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED SINCE 7/26/22. I SENT EMAILS ON 7/28/22 AND 8/4/22 WHICH HAVE GONE UNANSWERED. AT THIS POINT I FEEL LIKE HARDENED POWER SYSTEMS IS REFUSING ME WARRANTY SERVICE ON THEIR PRODUCT WHICH WAS SOLD TO ME WITH A 2 YEAR WARRANTY. I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE PRODUCT OR COMPANY AT THIS POINT AND HAVE GONE ON MY OWN AND PURCHASED REPLACMENT BATTERIES HOPING THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM REQUESTING A REFUND OF $395.97 FOR THE PURCHASE OF REPLACMENT BATTERIES FOR THE JUICEBOX. THANK YOU
