On February 2nd, we came home to a flood, after cleaning up the water we called The Claims Crew, a local water mitigation company. Under duress (as anyone would be in the situation) they had me sign an aggressive contract that stated I had to pay my $500 deductible to them immediately and that they would bill my insurance, but I would be responsible for any unpaid balance within 30 days of this estimate or I would be sent to collections. I signed because I needed help and have good insurance so did not expect a problem. All they did was put several dehumidifiers and a couple fans in our home. My husband tore out the flooring, drywall and insulation so things could dry out as they said they could not return for several days. **** (the owner of The Claims Crew) spoke to our insurance agent and stated they only way they could proceed was to move us out, rent a pod to move our furniture into, tear out all our cabinets and tear up all our flooring in order to proceed with the drying process. My husband has years of experience in construction and flooding and as only 1/3 of our home was damaged this seemed excessive. Even Allstate did not want the cabinets taken out without an onsite inspection. We had to go out of town so on 2/5/24, our insurance company approved to keep the dehumidifiers in our home and **** (The Claim Crew) told us to stop running the one in the kitchen as it would dry out our furniture and only to run the others at night, however you can see he continued to charged us for all of these including the day we asked him to take them out. On February 16th my husband tried to negotiate a more reasonable way to complete the mitigation and **** refused so we asked him to take his machines out that morning. When he picked them up apparently he was angry as he told my husband he would put a lien on our house if the estimate was not paid in 30 days. They want $2,480.59 (what was not paid by insurance) by tomorrow. See attached letter for more detail

      ******* *******
This is a bogus and ridiculous claim… The issue at hand is her $500 deductible that is owed according to her policy. We request the deductible to be paid on ALL claims as we are leaving $20,000 worth of equipment on-site to mitigate damages…The $500 has been communicated to the insurance company as paid and removed from our invoice… We will pursue full payment of our invoice according to our work authorization.

We provided an itemized invoice using industry standard pricing for the work we completed onsite. We completed the work in good faith and expect payment in full. We are now well over 45 days on a covered water loss Allstate only partially paid. I explained to the *******’ when they signed our work authorization and when we removed our equipment that they were responsible if not paid in full.

As I keep stating, my insurance company did not pay the full amount charged by The Claims Crew because they overcharged the run time on the machines. I am not paying them for false charges. My insurance company would have paid this in full if billed appropriately.
