BEWARE of this venue! 2 of the 3 of us came so close to drowning! The employees DO NOT prepare you for how dangerous this float is! The attached video was my phone while I struggled to stop as I was being flung over the rocky rapids! The staff needs to do a MUCH better job of preparing you! I’m pretty sure I have a broken toe - we all have new bruises popping up every day - today I see I have a black eye coming thru. The employee told us there are signs all along the river in case we need to contact them - there was not one sign before we pulled ourselves out! They put 2 of our wrist bands on loose because she said they shrink in the water - wrist bands had their phone number on it. We both lost our wristbands during our struggle to stay afloat. When we called to say we could not go any further and we needed them to pick us up - they told us the walk to the nearest main road so we could tell them where we were (mind you we are traumatized and caring large tubes) I asked if they could locate us via their phone - she said no because they only have a landline. They all had cell phones! They never offered life jackets (so we figured this “relaxing” float didn’t require them. They picked up another couple along the way who said they had the same horrible experience and shared that there was a 7 year old in their group who also flipped in the rapids. When we finally got back all bloodied they came out and said “aww- we have bandaids if you need them” I’ve never experienced this lack of preparation in any other event I’ve done in East Tennessee! I’m not sure how this company is still open for business ??
