I had been financing a blue 2018 Hyundai Sante Fe Sport through victory auto for a month now . I was paying 400$ a month or 200$ every 2 weeks. The lady texted me the day before they repoed the car asking me to get full coverage insurance instead of liability even though she told me in the beginning liability was fine. So I called that day cancelled the insurance in order to get full coverage. Next day came around I got full coverage insurance hadn’t even gotten the chance to email the papers to her and they came and repoed the car that same day. I emailed her the paper work and I wasn’t behind on any payments yet she refused to talk to me said she sent me a letter in the mail. I received the letter to find out I was now having to pay full price if I wanted to get the car back. Now I have been trying since the day I received the letter to get all of our belongings and I do mean all, and all of my sons things they keep going in circles with us we ask them what time we can be there agree on a time show up and they aren’t there and they then tell us they already left. 10 days comes around and they tell us we haven’t tried to get our things and they’re gonna throw our stuff away. Also about a week before this occurred I had dropped the car off to them they were suppose to repair somethings on it well they didnt repair anything they agreed to and still kept the car from us for over a week when originally I never even got told I was suppose to drop it off . They originally told me it would take 2 hours at most. I tried to ask them if I could bring it back on my days off it was our only transportation back and forth to work they were just rude and refused and even ignored us once again. My family and I are struggling since we lost our home this year. We saved up all our money for this car so we could get back and forth to work. I now am not able to work due to no transportation and all of our savings are gone. Then to find out they’re running illegally was just terrible.Business response

"****** ***** came by Victory Auto July 8th, 2022. She was interested in a 2018 Hyundai Sante Fe. We explained that we had some exterior parts on order for it so it was able to be sold and leave the lot until those parts were installed. She indicated that she needed to get back and forth to work and would bring the car back Monday July 11, 2022 to have parts installed. Her father in Florida paid her down payment and was also informed that full coverage insurance is required for the note. She is required to provide full coverage car insurance throughout the entirety of the loan. She provided a car insurance card when she left July 8, 2022. On July 9, 2022 we received a fax that indicated that she had changed the coverage to liability only insurance. We called her Monday Morning upon receipt of the insurance notice so she could get it fixed as soon as possible. On Monday July 11, 2022 she did not appear to the car lot with the car to have the parts installed. We called multiple time throughout the day with no response. We called her reference contacts on her application to try to get ahold of her. We tried went to her address and the car was not there and nobody answered the door. We went to Taco Bueno on Judge Ely where she indicated that she worked and the manager on duty advised that she no longer worked there.
After 3 days of no response we sent a tow company a request for repossession. They finally found the car August 19, 2022 at the Motel 6 hotel off Hwy 351 in Abilene Texas. When the tow truck operator entered he driver door to start the towing process he saw what appeared to be illegal drugs. We contacted the Abilene Police Department and they met the tow truck operator at the tow yard and collected it. We sent the repossession letter to ****** ***** on August 19, 2022 and she signed the receipt on August 20, 2022. She called August 22,2022 and was advised to call the tow company to retrieve her items 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday within 15 days. On September 1,2022 she called again asking for her things and told her the tow company still has the car and she needed to contact them. On September 8, 2022 we retrieved the car from the tow company and brought it to the car lot. We cleaned it out and put her things in a box and held them at the car lot for a week. We found another vial with what appeared to be drugs and called the Abilene Police Department and they came and collected the vial. I called and informed her that her items were now at the car lot and the of the vial that the APD collected. She never came and they were discarded on October 26,2022. Our thoughts were that she thought she was going to get in trouble for the items APD collected and that is why she never appeared to collect her things.
We went above and beyond by holding her items longer than required due to the nature of all the contents in relation to children's clothes and car seats, etc...
I am including a copy of the applicable documents. Thank you."
