I enlisted D&M to construct a fence at the noted location. There were multiple mistakes made by the contractor. - Gates (2) were put in backwards. I was not asked which way I wanted them to open. They opened inward on a down hill slope, hence the gates open 75% before contacting the downward slope. Only one was redone to open outward. - Sprinkler system drilled into three times after pointing out location. Paid for two repairs, refused to pay for the third as it occurred after the previous two. $300. -Fence was stained a color NOT selected and they had to do over entire fence. - Multiple pickets screwed so tight into frame, they cracked. One has split 50% the length of the picket. This occur within 60 days from completion. D&M has ignored request to fix this for three months.Business response

"We have been out there several times to fix what he requested. There were a few times we tried, and his gate were locked, and no one would answer after we made arrangements to go out there. The crew had spoken with him about him being on a hill that it would cause some issues and he said that was fine. We have replaced several of the pickets for him already and more. Every time we finish doing a project, we have the customer walk it with us. And if there is any problems, we can address them right away. We have done that several times as well."Initial Complaint

They replaced a wood fence for us around 8-17-2022. Finished on a Wednesday and I called them the following Monday to report cracked and culled pickets. They replaced some for the cracked wood but not all and they did not replace any of the damaged ones. I have called several times, the last time I called, was told they would replace some of the pickets and not heard back from them.Business response

the customer walked around after the job was completed and did say they where okay with the job. Week or so afterward was wanting new boards. Cedar fence will have creaks and splits.Initial Complaint

Fence finished on 2-14-2022 just after dark. Fence is all good except for three split pickets. I contacted fence company 2-21-2022. Fence company sent someone to inspect and he said split pickets are not warranted even after such a short period of time. I am sure the pickets were split at the time of installation. Fence company refuses to replace the defective pickets. Fence cost $4,315. This seems like a very small thing to destroy our good will.
