I had Rod come out on July 22 to check on my air conditioner. I had used him before and felt that he was reliable and trustworthy. He found no refrigerant in the system by doing a "leak check" for $610 for less than ten minutes. Next he repaired the leak by silver soldering a small home hole in the compressor line caused by a bare wire arcing and burning a hole in the line. Cost, $315 for less than ten minutes. He then replenished the system with seven (7) pounds of R-22 refrigerant at the outrageous price of $300 per pound. A full 10 pound canister of R-22 can be obtained for less than $1000, even if it is becoming scarce. That's less than $100 per pound. His charge was a 300 percent mark up. Sorry, but I think this was the last time I will be using Legit. The total for this "service" was $3150. When I think of the term "service" regarding this visit, a bull in a pasture with a bunch of cows comes to mind.

Mr. ******** to be fair I gave you upfront pricing and other affordable options to choose from before you decide to choose this repair option. I even informed you that I didn't think your option was worth it but you stated that you just wanted to buy more time. I have always done my best to ensure your system which is over 20 years old ran the best it could for its age and was safe. In fact on 7/11/22 I discovered that your unit was leaking carbon monoxide in your home and fixed it for you free of charge. We also performed a tuneup on that system and told you 2 years ago that the system was on its last leg back then and it only cost you $85. We have always been upfront and honest with you. We never forced a new system or repair on you. We informed you of the price upfront and you authorized those repairs with absolutely no complaint. Your old AC is cooling at the time of this complaint and you knew the cost before you authorized the repair. Furthermore we don't charge hourly we charge by the job so the customer will always know exactly what they will owe when we are done. This is also an insensitive for us to buy expensive tools and use the best trade practices to perform our jobs accurately and in a timely manner. That's a great thing not a bad one. Mr. ******** we gave you what you asked for and now you are filing a complaint while reaping the benefits of the service we provided you and that you approved of. This does not make sense. I hope you will reevaluate you complaint in light of the aforementioned and know that the times we are living in is not cheap.
