Abilene is a bad business that doesn't value their customers I paid my car off today and they will not send me a copy of my lien Release form statement stating that they are no longer the lien holder on my 2012 Gmc Acadia I asked for them to send it to my email and the only thing they sent was a receipt with a 0.00 balance and nothing else Natasha W******* is my name

Ma’am I understand your frustration but your receipt reflected no longer having a balance on your loan and the title being mailed to you will have the lien released on the front. This is the proper way of a lien holder releasing the lien on a title. In the event the title is lost then a lien release form can be provided via mail or in person due to the state requiring it to be an original and not a copy or printed version. I am sorry this has caused you to view us as a bad business. We are not neglecting to acknowledge the account being paid off. We are simply following the proper way of releasing the lien on a title. Thank you.

They make it easy to get a car with them. Then when there are extenuating circumstances, they refuse to work with you. I would highly recommend NOT using them. They add fees on insurance even when you send in proof that you have full coverage! If you can use anyone else, do it!!

Ma'am we do everything we can to help our customers in situations of need. Yes there can be instances were what the customer is wanting just simply cannot be done. I do apologize if this is what has led to your review. We want nothing but the best experience for our customers and refusing to work with them is not our nature. The extent to which we can help can only go so far.

I bought a car from them in 2019 in a short amount of time it began to make weird engine noise. 2020 I had a job separation due to the coronavirus and I contacted Abilene used cars and told them that I would like to surrender the vehicle and turn it in and yes I did realize that I'm current on my payments, but I explained to them that I would not have the money to continue to make future payments! They suggested that I keep the car and paid when I got the money, I again explain to them that I have no money to make future payments or even the full coverage policy. I I also had to remove the vehicle from full coverage from my insurance policy and then they came and picked up the car. They sent me a 1099-C, a cancellation of debt form and let me know that they forgive me for the debt and I was forgiven! But then they listed it as a repossession on my credit report, even though they sent me a 1099 cancellation of debt and I claim that on my tax return and it was counted as taxable income against me! They did! Also whenever I called the office and told them that I wanted a copy of my 1099-C cancellation of debt as it was misplaced when I filed it with my taxes in 2020. The girl got really ugly in the payment center and told me to never call again! They are refusing to give me my copy 1099-C cancellation of debt form and I have still yet to receive it, which is completely illegal! Do not buy from this car lot they are crooked and will screw you over and will sell you a $5,000 car for about $18,000! The vehicles will also have a lot of problems

Ma'am the 1099-C form is a requirement by the IRS. This is not our rule or our policy, it is the law. Therefore, we must send them out. The repossession on your credit report will reflect a $0 balance. Accepting your vehicle in satisfaction of the debt does not eliminate it from being a repossession. It eliminates the debt owed and reports as a $0 balance instead of sending your account to a collection agency and you getting phone calls in attempts to collect the remaining balance. I apologize if this was confusing to you but again I do want to stress the 1099-C is a requirement by the IRS no matter how the account was closed.

I got a car from them that already had issues by 3rd week of having it, I ended up surrendering it from to many issues, and on top of that when I went to test drive vehicles I told sales man I was going to use Fred Loya insurance he said they wouldn't use that company, and said that I can go through them so I could leave the lot that day. I remembered them saying it only covers the car, but in my mind since he said in was insurance that I would be covered if I got a ticket. So basically I was paying my car payment, and insurance that was a collateral insurance I didn't know that wouldn't cover if I got pulled over they never said that until I called after I got pulled over. I called to try to get copy of paper that they said was insurance to show court so they can see what I was saying was true. The Abilene used car place said they no longer had that document, and are saying it said it wouldn't cover in paper work but there was a lady going over it for me. So I didn't think anything of it, because the guy said it was insurance. If I would have known that I would of went to another insurance company like I have now. That was definitely not ok of them to trick me with there words like that. They were rude with me as well, but with all the car trouble I had, and on top of getting insurance ticket that I'm currently trying to get dropped. I did surrender the vehicle after 90 days. They definitely should mention when ppl are signing paper work that if you get pulled over you will get a ticket. I feel taken advantage of for sure, I really thought they were a great company, but not when they say you can use they're insurance and then you find out you are paying collateral later on.

Ma'am the insurance we placed on your vehicle at the time of purchase is completely optional and was agreed to by you. We have a minimum deductible requirement that Fred Loya does not offer. Therefore, we let you know upfront so that you would not give them money for a policy they know does not meet how requirements and then would refuse to give you a refund on. It happens all of the time. You do sign documents stating you still need a liability policy and you actually initial that document as well right next to that paragraph. I do apologize if this was confusing to you or a simple misunderstanding. But we do our best to ensure each customer understands our requirements for full coverage, as well as the alternative policy we can place them on if full coverage cannot be acquired.
