Date of service 10/16/2023 After admitting his new technician made mistakes (drained transmission fluid instead of oil & had car on for 6 minutes without oil), I heard him complaining saying he needed a vacation when his technician drove off in my car without communicating with me he was test driving it. After I left, my car smelled horrible after driving it and made a few knocking noises. I decided to take my car to ****** to get everything checked out. I called Kwik Kar's manager, *****, about it and he said to bring paperwork from ****** to show what is found and that we could file a claim with corporate. I thought okay great they will reimburse for anything that *** have gone wrong. Then I showed up with my car, paperwork, and a few parts to show what ****** found. The manager would barely allow me to speak. He raised his voice in order to tell me corporate won't pay for anything that was found simply because "my car is operational". He made the statement "I'm not trying to keep you from filing a claim, I'm trying to make you understand that corporate won't pay and it's a waste of your time". (I was triggered by the raised voice and being silenced so I simply said "yes it is" in response to his claim that he wasn't trying to keep me from filing a claim and left in tears) I didn't go there for a fight.... But isn't filing a claim a decision I should be making, not the Kwik Kar manager?! If I went through all the steps HE told me to and showed up, doesn't that show that I find it serious enough to file a claim?! I'm now going to be out over $600 due to their "minor mistakes" (stripped bolts and missing washer for transmission plug) that this manager doesn't find important enough to allow me to file a claim. They messed up, admitted it, said they'd help rectify the situation with a claim, and LIED. Attached is what I'm spending to have ****** correct their mistakes highlighted. I want reimbursement for what I'm having to spend due to their mistakes.Business response

The issue was resolved. The district manager contacted me and allowed a claim to be filed with their corporate office. Their corporate office refunded the entire amount paid to repair the vehicle.Initial Complaint

Took my daughters car to Kwik Kar Of Allen for an inspection . The person told me he wasnt going to pass the inspection because of her brakes. I was quoted a price 389.00 and was told it had to be done in 15 days or he would deny the inspection again. I felt threatened. Then I was forced to pay the 25.50or they wouldnt release my daughters car to me. Another threat. I reluctantly paid and I did verbally complain. After I left Kwik Kar I drove down and around he block for a second opinion of my local reputable mechanic. Allen Automotive Repair. @ guys that are mechanics came out to look at the car. one drove it around the block to check the brakes. He also did show me some wear on the metal. He gave me his honest opinion as well as the 2 nd. mechanic.The car will eventually need new brake pads. BUT, they both told me that the brakes are just fine to pass inspection for now and that Kwik Kar was just trying to rip me off. Force me into getting that done or they wouldnt pass my daughters car inspection. The second mechanic actually said he had some negative simialar experiences with Kwik Kar as well. To the point that he stopped going there himself. They both advised me to go to where I got my own car done. I DID !! Her car passed NO PROBLEM ! Their cost was 389.00 per the receipt from Kwik Kar. . Allen Automotive quoted so much less . I lost the 25.50 fee with Kwik Kar that I was threatened to pay or they would hold my daughters car and not give it to me until I did. It's not a lot of money, but it were the lengths and the threats they went through to force me to pay and then denying her inspection as they were trying to force me to fix the brakes within 15 days. To me that business practice is highly unethical. All I want is my money returned to me. Thank-you ********* *******Business response

Hello, I been looking for a corporate phone number so I can speak with someone about the Kwik Kar in *****,Tx. I paid for my car to be fixed and it wasn't fixed and my car was left outside with the windows down and it rained in my car. I have video and proof of payment with text messages From the manager who quit and never contacted me about my car. I had to keep calling and go up there to tow my car back home. The new manager told me they were going to work on the car but never did. Someone need to call me to refund my money or pick up my car and fix it at another location and also detail the interior. I just paid $5500 for new interior for my classic car and they left the windows down and messed them up. The location that had my car was **************************************Business response

This complaint was filed against **************** **** in error. Kwik Kar stores are individually owned and operated by individuals and are not a franchise. We had contacted the BBB by phone upon receiving this complaint to notify that the consumer would need to contact the owner of the store located at ********************************* in Allen.
Because we do not own the business in question, we cannot provide information as to how to reach the owner other than sending a certified letter or filing a BBB complaint with the appropriate business owner as filed with the BBB or Secretary of State.Business response
