I contracted with ***** ******* (owner of Bobcat Custom Outdoors) to complete an outdoor living structure. It was finished in July 2021. On March 2, 2022, I tried contacting him about ongoing electrical issues I was experiencing. I noticed that the structure's ceiling fan and tv kept coming on after being turned off and one of my breakers in the garage, to this day, keeps tripping. His electrician put up the tv and ceiling fan, along with a new breaker in my panel box. He never returned my message. I contacted him again on April 2, 2022. This time he answered, stating he'd have his electrician stop by to rule out anything they did. Today is June 7, 2022, over two months later and I still have not heard back from him. I explained to him on the call that service after the sell is equally as important as the sell itself. All I'm asking of him is to honor his contract. If his company is not at fault, let's rule that out. If he doesn't and I have to have another company come out, and they find that the work his team did is at fault, he should be accountable for the repair. During the April 2nd text, he enlisted his OPINION that the problem stems from a power surge. Well if it is, COME OUT TO THE HOUSE and CONDUCT A DIAGNOSTIC. I'm not seeking a remote opinion. Best Regards,

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/15) */ When Mrs ******* contacted me I explained that our electricians were at least six weeks out at the moment. We sent our team of three electricians out to troubleshoot the system on June 15th. The breaker that Mrs ******* was having issues with was one that was installed by the home builder. It was marked utility room and was not related to the circuit for the outdoor work. The breaker that was marked for the cabana (installed by Bobcat Custom Outdoors) was functioning properly and power to the cabana was constant. We changed the faulty breaker out with a new breaker. Mrs ******* said the TV and fan would turn on by itself. GFCI outlet for the TV was functioning properly. TV Remote had water inside of it which may contribute to some malfunction. We checked power connections at the fan and re-situated wires inside the fan to reduce unnecessary crimping. Power to fan was constant. The fan used a remote control switch and was under constant power. We explained that any power surge or flicker will often cause a remote control fan to turn on by itself. We were able to recreate the issue with the fan and deemed the fan itself to be faulty. None of the issues Mrs ******* experienced were related to Bobcat Custom Outdoors workmanship nor the with our electrical system. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) My only ask for the contractor when I contacted him in March was to TIMELY honor his contract. All he was responsible for was completing an evaluation to rule out if any of the problems that I was having with the structure that he built was associated with the work his team performed. As previously stated, he ignored me until I texted him again in April. I found his excuses then, and now about being too busy unacceptable for a customer that payed him thousands of dollars for a structure that's still under warranty. He wasn't too busy to take my money. At any rate, after being ignored again, (over 2 months later in June) I texted him again, and he finally sent an electrician out a week later. I explained to the electrician that all of the electricity in the unit had gone out the day before their arrival, causing the GFCI to trip - not sure why and he didn't either. The electricians conducted a thorough investigations of the work that they completed. Although the breaker problem that they came out for started a few months after the structure was built, they did find that another breaker was causing the issue and was not on the same circuit. The remote control, which two weeks ago I placed in a ziplock bag and kept in the structure had moisture in it, HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TV TURNING ON BY ITSELF. This problem started months ago and, you don't need the remote control to turn the tv on or off. The remote would have to be physically attached to the tv in some manner for that to happen - makes little sense. The electrician also stated it could be be perhaps mine or one of my neighbor's indoor remotes causing the problem by being on the same frequency. Our houses sit on an acre of land and the tv is about 50-60 ft outside my home so that too, sounded ludicrous to me. Everything, as I stated to the Owner turned into speculation and a guessing game at that point. THE ELECTRICIAN WAS ABLE TO DUPLICTE THE ISSUE THAT I WAS HAVING WITH THE CEILING FAN. HE FOUND BUNCHED UP WIRES IN THE FAN WHICH HE INSTALLED - STATING THAT MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PROBLEM. He also said there may be "frequency" issues so he adjusted for that too. He went on to say that it may be the Smart Fan App or the fan itself may need to be replaced. If I had listened to that lie, I would be replacing a fairly new fan for no reason because I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES SO FAR SINCE HE MADE THOSE ADJUSTMENTS. SO, THE CONTRACTOR IS TOTALLY INCORRECT WHEN HE STATES THAT BOBCAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PROBLEM. I'm also hoping he will be sending someone to repair another portion of the structure that I sent him a recent photo of. Although my electrical issues for now, have been resolved, I don't agree with his excuses for being unresponsive, UNTIMELY and his company having no fault in the matter.
