I have called this location for the past 4days leaving messages to talk to anyone in finance. I have even told the receptionist to leave me on hold until she can get someone and she just ended the call. I need to cancel a warranty that is holding up the sale of my camper. This warranty is impossible to find, Ive called the main business and was transferred in literal circles back to the same 3 people all saying the warranty is with the next person. So now my last option is to somehow get ahold of this ******** store and speak to the **** that sold me the camper/ warranty. Im fully expecting them to transfer me to one of those previous departments that cant help me. Good luck doing business with this company. I was warned myself and now Im selling and buying with a much better competitor.Business response

Their service department completely misdiagnosed a problem with our fresh water tank filling up by itself. They put a new inlet check valve in the rv, when it really needed a new water pump. They charged me $251 for the mistake and when I went in to have the real problem (water pump) fixed, they wanted another $325. When I cautioned that I would report this to BBB, I was told to not threaten them. The Camping World corporate office called me and nothing has happened.Business response

We are from ********* and we were taking a vacation road trip to ****************** ***** with our camper. On 8/29/2022, our 2012 Keystone Copper Canyon 5th wheel had a pin box steel fatigue failure. We were able to get it to Camping World in Alvarado ***** where we ended up purchasing a 2022 Fuel 305 for $68,000. The first day that we towed it, we realized that the battery back up was not working therefore our fridge wouldn't stay cold and we could not use the jacks if needed. We attempted to contact Camping Worlds service department several times to try and trouble shoot with them, each time the secretary stated that they were unavailable and they would send them an email. After 6 phone calls in 2 days, we called and asked to speak with the general manager who was also unavailable. We continued on our trip to *********** and along the way, we found a list of many more issues including: back deck right side cable would not tighten completely, the hitch needs to be hammered into place in order to properly connect the hitch to the ball on the truck, valances not fastened, slide stops in mid transition, screws on fender trim cutting into camper body, front door won't close properly, back door has gap, shower basin leaks, oven won't light, stairs do pull out or push in without excessive force and many more minor issues. Once our vacation was over, we brought the camper to Camping World in ********* ** to get everything fixed and that's when they told us that the sway bar that Camping World in Alvarado sold us was not rated for the weight of the camper that we purchased. We traveled ***** miles with a sway bar rated to pull 10,000lbs when we needed something rated for 1*****lbs or more which would explain our driving difficulties the entire trip. At this point we wanted to give back the camper, Camping World in ********* ** suggested to contact Camping World in Alvarado for a better buy back price, they offered us $30,500 for a camper that we owned for 18 daysInitial Complaint

June 29 2022 I purchased a 2016 Forest river rv from camping world I put ****** down was told this rv goes thru a complete bumper to bumper inspection. I have almost 93 pages of back and forth messages from the salesman from day 1 with problems all the way up to corporate.I explained I was going to be **** miles away living in the rv for work .I was told that salesman no longer works there to include the service manager that told me he didnt have an answer to getting repairs done since I was out of town.I was told I would be compensated for any hotels etc then I was told no . I needed to bring it back to where I purchased it so I took off week of work drove it to the dealer I was told by General manager ******* he would try and get me into something else then didnt hear anything for 3 weeks when I called back they said your rv is fixed not eligible for buy back.I explained no way could it be fixed the roof leaks I found mold in vents and towels were stuffed inside the a/c ductwork i provided them pictures and videos. My elderly parents bought a brand new trailer to finally be able to travel and live their lives as advised by the VA for my verteran father. Upon buying this unit they had a written agreement with the company for minor repairs to be completed. The unit sat in their lot for a year with no repairs done, actually came back with more damage. They were given false promise and false promise to never get the unit fixed. They were talked into a new trailer. They lost all of their $7k of down payment, all the payments they made through out the year and the company gave them an outrageous loan and took advantage of them. We are looking for the down payment money to returned or applied to the new loan and atleast half the payments to be credited seeing how they did not even have possession of the unit but maybe 2 weeks out of an entire year. The ceo office has complaints filed regarding this issue but no resolution has been made.Initial Complaint

August 6th, 2022 I purchased a camper from camping world of Alvarado. On August 7th, 2022 there was discovered to be wood-rot and mold. I contacted the business via text that night and then called the next day, August 8th,2022. When I contacted them I was told Id receive a call back and I did not. I had to call again 2 days later and was told I am being avoided and was sent to my sales person. We then came to the conclusion my husband would fix it with a $400 check for supplies from the company. On august 14th, ************************************ what we believe is the water heater and this has soaked the entire carpet. We rip up the carpet to discover even more mold and wood-rot. I call camping world immediately and they suggest a new unit as I suggest them to just fix the unit. They tell me the unit isnt worth the price it would be to fix it. I even speak directly to the ** who suggests the new unit himself. I drive to camping world the next day, August 15th, to be told that everything we discussed over the phone is not happening and we will be required to pay more out of pocket. I just want my camper to be fixed and it to be made right.Initial Complaint

On 12/16/21 I purchased an RV and added four extra service contracts ***************** Contract, Tire and ************************************************* and *************************** Contract.) I later determined that I did not need these four items after all. I mailed a separate request for cancellation for each contract within the required timeline for a full refund totaling $8011.00. These were sent via certified return receipt and signed for by Camping World (******) on 1/10/22. Per the contracts, these cancellations were to be processed and refunds issued within either 45 or 60 days, both of which have long passed. I spoke with ***** via phone on 3/21/22 and was told they were all processed and checks issued to my lienholder in February. I spoke to my lienholder on 4/11/22 and they still have not received the funds; therefore I am still being charged interest on this money. In my request for cancellation letters, I requested a copy of the checks be sent to me and I have yet to receive a copy. I sent an email to ***** on 4/11/22 asking for status and again asking for a copy of the checks and have yet to receive a response.Initial Complaint

In October of 2020, I purchased a brand new ******* Lantern camper from Camping World of Alvarado, TX. While doing paperwork, I pointed out that my name was misspelled in the sales documentation. The sales manager blew it off and said he'd correct it later. That did not happen. Then on, or about March 28, 2021, I brought the camper to the same dealership for body work. It had been damaged in a hail storm. During that time I had to constantly contact them about it. At one point they had my information attached to a totally different unit other than mine. Through that communication I had to repeatedly expressed my concern for all the work to be completed and the unit to be back to good since it was brand new. Finally around the end of September I called to check on it. It was then I was told my unit was repaired and ready to pick up. Around Thanksgiving I was showing it to my dad. We discovered all the repair work had not been done. I contacted the dealer. I was assured it would be taken care of. ****** go by. I checked on it in February. It should be done by the end of the month. I check on it then. I'm told it will be ready in March. I contact the dealer in March. Supposedly it's done. Upon arrival, I inspect my camper. All the repair work had not been completed and I was made to wait while they got parts from the shelves to do parking lot repairs. I waited almost three hours. That was the last chance. This dealership is nearly an hour away from the house. I spent quite a bit of my limited time off and diesel messing with this camper due to negligence and extremely poor communication. Now I have lost a year of warranty and the depreciation value on a brand new camper over had in my possession for mere months.
