I took my 2019 Tahoe to Harvey's for repair. It was picked up on April 5th after repairs were made. Upon driving home, it was discovered that the TPMS and the remote entry controls no longer worked. I contacted the business and they said they wouldn't do anything about it and became very rude.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/08) */ Customer picked up her Tahoe on 4/4 and called the shop on 4/5 about a light on her dash. After determining that it was the TPMS light we told her that she probably had a tire that was low on pressure as that is the only thing the TPMS system monitors. On 4/7 Mr ****** called and said the remote was not working. He was told that it was probably the battery in the remote as the shop only repaired the right quarter panel and rear bumper and nothing else was disassembled. Mr ****** became very angry and abusive( cussing out the manager) when told that the shop can check it out and diagnose the problem but couldn't just replace parts without knowing exactly what the underlying issue was. That offer is still on the table for the shop to diagnose what the issue could be. The shop is willing to help find out what has caused the TPMS light to come on and the remote not to work. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The explanation from the company is not true. The Manager, ****** was the one cussing and being disrespectful to my wife and myself. I asked to speak to the owner and he said he was the only one I needed to talk to because he was the one in charge. He did not offer to look at the vehicle to solve the problem which is all I was asking them to do. He said it was a "two way street". I discovered after this conversation that the company had disconnected the wires to the unit that controls the TPMS and the key fob, both of which were working fine when left with the company. I can only infer from this action that they were trying some sort of scam to get us to return our vehicle and making us pay to help "fix" it as he had eluded to my wife. It was evident that the wires were removed intentionally and that it was in the custody of the company when this happened. I am afraid they might have tried this sort of thing with other people. My wife left a message for the President of the company to call her and he has not as of this date. I would hope this case is being managed by the President and not the manager. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/04/12) */ Mr ******'s allegations are not appreciated. The company is an Accredited business and does not scam anyone. I do not know what wiring he is talking about because the TPMS and remote controls are through the body control module. Not some random unit that you disconnect the wires to. If the body control module is disconnected then the vehicle will not operate as this is the main computer for the vehicle. The TPMS and remote may need to be reset, which can be done with a scanner. The shop has the scanner needed to reset this and can do it at no charge. I have never rec'd a message to call Mrs. ****** and that is why she hasn't been called. And yes this is the President of the company filling out the complaint. The shop offer is still on the table to help resolve the complaint. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/04/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I appreciate your response and hold no ill will against you or your company. You have always been pleasant to deal with in the past. The derogatory remarks were directed at ***** based on the conversations he had with my wife and I. He was very disrespectful and, as the customer, I found this very disturbing and insulting. If you did not get the message to call my wife then I can only assume it was not passed along to you. I attempted to talk to you the day ***** hung up on me but he would not let me talk to you. If we had been able to talk that day I think this whole thing could have been avoided. The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) is a multifunction module that operates both the keyless entry system as well as the tire pressure monitoring (TPM) system. When an RF message is received from a keyless entry transmitter, the RCDLR interprets this signal and will request via serial data that the body control module (BCM) perform the specific function, i.e. door lock, door unlock, or vehicle locate. The RCDLR also sends messages out to the 2 Way Advanced Remote Start transmitter. There are 3 locations that the RCDLR antenna system can become disconnected: 1. Antenna Amplifier Module disconnected from antenna at the right rear glass 2. Coax cable disconnected at the Antenna Amplifier Module 3. Coax cable disconnected at the RCDLR The closer the disconnect is to the RCDLR, the greater number of symptoms will be noticed. I found the wires disconnected at the antenna amplifier module that is located above the headliner at the right rear glass, directly above the antenna. I was able to reconnect these wires and everything operated as it did before. There is nothing for your shop to do. I don't know how or why the wires were unplugged but it physically has to be done. Since the connection is above the headliner, you have to remove the right rear column panel in order to access it. I hope this helps you understand my frustration with this ordeal since both of these systems were working properly when dropped off. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/04/15) */ I'm sorry for the inconvenience and apologize for you having to research the issue. I did check with my tech and he did disconnect a plug when he was removing the taillight for refinish on the Quarter panel. He thought he had reconnected the plugin completely. I'm not sure but he probably didn't get it clicked all the way in and then it worked its way out. That's why we want to get the vehicle back in if there is an issue so something like this can be avoided. All parties on my end have been disciplined and instructed on proper handling of customers and their vehicles. I apologize for you having to take time with this problem. Please let me know if I can help in the future. Consumer Response /* (2000, 15, 2022/04/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Thank you for the response and follow-up actions. I apologize for escalating the incident to this level. I should have calmed down before submitting this and tried to reach you again first. Everything seems to still be working fine so I believe all is good.
