On 9/22 I brought in a 2019 Kia Optima to trade in for a 2018 Dodge Durango. After making the deal I was told to reach out if I needed anything. The day after I noticed the Durango had the check engine light on and was not acting right. I called and messaged the Salesperson of a possible transmission failure and asked what the provided warranty covered. He only gave me details of the warranty and did not ask me what issues the Durango had. I took the Durango "at my cost" to be inspected and serviced elsewhere. I got some emission systems problems sorted out on the Durango that SHOULD NOT have had any issues at all. Soon after the Transmission started to slip and would no longer go into gear. I called All Star Dodge to HELP me find out why this was happening. They had the Durango towed to the shop and diagnosed it to have a bad Transmission. I then asked how long it would take to make the repairs and they said they could not start repairs until I paid for it. THIS should not be at my cost. As of today that I am sending this complaint I have gone through so many scenarios with all levels of management with this dealership to make this right and they are still strong arming me into being responsible for these repairs. According to what I am picking up from this situation is that this Durango never went to any kind of pre-inspection before selling it to me. The salesman and his original manager of the sale was for some reason Let Go after my visit. I have called Corperate Dodge costumer services 4 times and they have NOT attempted to help. I have not even made 1 payment on the Loan yet and have tried to Voluntarily surrender the vehicle with a 1st payment default, but even the bank feels as if the dealership should be able to do something to make this right. I have got a total cost for a used transmission replacement at 5803.50 plus tax and this should be at the dealerships cost.
