Corebridge is a terrible retirement company. I am my mother's Attorney In Fact, have completed all paperwork and affidavits, have access to her accounts online and they still will not release her retirement money. I am looking into legal representation. I have handled my mother and father finances for years as their Attorney in Fact, including banks and properties. Never had these issues anywhere else. Them refusing to process paperwork and recognize valid legal documents can get them into serious legal trouble. The call center seems to be foreign and not USA based. I will be contacting the financial professional on her account with all required paperwork and my attorneys information. Retirement distributions are a very common, very simple process, it should not be like this.

I am concerned they are going to keep my mother’s money. I have filed repeated requests through the bank, broker and organization. Each time the request has been denied. I have POA documentation, but they force me to include my mother who is hard of hearing, in the phone calls. I have submitted four death certificates for my father, yet they have lost or failed to file anything. I am not allowed to set up an online account because my father’s deceased so I can’t check the progress. The broker from *** Financial will not return emails or telephone calls. They will not give me the account number via telephone. ******* bank does nothing to help. We originally submitted all documents to the bank and they misplaced them. I have contacted my attorney. I tried to roll it over into a new account and they won’t allow my financial advisor access. Horrible company and customer service.

Their customer service is terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone. I have been trying to roll my money over for the past 2 months and I haven’t gotten anything but, the run around. I would not recommend them to anyone. They are terrible.

Corebridge was formed as a rebrand of AIG's life and retirement subsidiary, SAFG Retirement Service, in 2021. It sold a portion of the business to private equity firm Blackstone, which retains its nearly 10% holding. AIG made Corebridge public in September 2022, raising $1.7 billion in an initial share offering. AIG had sold an annuity to a senior citizen whom I now care for, and did so using tactics that were deceiving the true nature of the annuity. While the details are preserved in writing, suffice it to say that this senior citizen signed in 2016 a document that indicated he would receive $1,448 and change per month, starting in 2018 for as long as he lived. Once he passed, no funds would be returned to his trust or to his children, and no dependents were allowed on the policy. The structure of the contract anticipated nearly every challenge, even considering that he had no idea that AIG would subsequently reduce the annuity to approximately $925 per month, a significant reduction. The reduction was a unilateral move by AIG, without the full knowledge or approval of this elderly man. After repeated efforts to secure relief, the "customer service" representatives and supervisors indicated that there is no way that AIG would consider returning any of the funds or increasing the payments to the agreed-upon amount and that the policy was ironclad. That this policy resulted in a financial hardship for this senior citizen is of no concern to AIG. This annuity is usurious and deceptive, and the business practice of disguising reductions in payments is entirely unethical. Under no circumstances should anyone conduct financial business with a company that has institutionalized taking advantage of senior citizens. They should be ashamed, but of course, they are not, because they have his money and they don't care.

Been trying to roll over money invested with Corebridge. I have completed three separate forms, returned them to the address provided. Each time I was told there was another form to complete and send back. I think this is a scam, they do not intend to release the money. My retirement advisor has talked with a Cambridge representative twice and filled the forms out as instructed then faxed the completed forms back to them. It is very difficult to talk to a person, after being put on hold for as much as 25 minutes, then hung up on. When you do finally talk to a person, they lie and give you the runaround.

Corebridge Financial does not know the meaning of the words "customer service" . The person on the phone and her supervisor were rude and very inconsiderate. I was having a financial problem and was trying to get money..my money.. from my account. They offered NO help, just very very rude statements. A less than zero stars rating for sure. If you have your money with these people move it now.

The customer service is almost non-existent. I submitted a question on 9/15/2023. I finally received a response on 1/26/2024 and the question was not even answered by the response. The three other questions I submitted currently have no response. On multiple occasions I have had the autopay multi-charge my account and that was not corrected. Also, I asked for a breakdown of what those charges were applied to and have not received it. Nowhere can you see your loan payment history and their system doesn't acknowledge you make a payment so you have no idea if your payments are being received and applied.

I wish there was a way to leave zero stars. Corebridge, formerly Valic, has the worst customer service. My father passed away in September 2023. My sister and I filed claims, as we are the beneficiaries of his accounts, and are getting nowhere. I've called several times and each time they act like no claim has been filed. My last call, on 1/18/24, was very frustrating. When the young lady finally understood what my need was, she looked up "something" on the computer, found the claim, and did not know why there had been no action taken yet. She said she would "escalate" the matter to her supervisor, but even at that I should know that it would take 10-15 business days to process, then another 7-10 days for mailing. I was told something similar to this in December when trying to follow up with my claim.

I wasn't happy with Corebridge. I decided to go to another company. I have been trying to move my money for the past four months. I spend about 30 minutes on hold and another 30 minutes on the phone with one of their reps. They have told me twice money has been sent to my new company, but then I get an email from Corebridge stating that they denied my request. They said the paperwork hasn't been filled out correctly. Their rep that meets with me filled out the paperwork for me. The next time I called they said the paperwork expired and then they would send me more paperwork. The paperwork never arrived. Then I call again and they said I didn't list if it was a total surrender or not. I have told them each time it is a total surrender of all my assets at Corebridge to go to my new company. I am losing money. I could be making a lot more with me new company. I feel they owe me interest for the money that I haven't made in the past four months and they need to transfer my money right away. I have also been hung up on twice. Once they said they couldn't hear me after I was waiting for 26 minutes.
