We had an agreement with South Texas Renovation, ****** Haskin. He is a scammer! I paid for work and they never showed back up!! Im out over $1500 and dont want it to happen to anyone else. The last project he was working on for us was tape, float and texture all sheetrock for $2,550.00. However, he didnt finish. In fact, he didnt even finish the sheet rock Id already paid him for. They did some of the the tape and float, but no texture. There are things not done previously he had been paid for like the sheet rock not finished, electrical things, and plumbing things.Initial Complaint

He flooded my kitchen from the ceiling. Didnt replace any of the Sheetrock or insulation like he said he would for the damages he caused, just put paint over it. Didnt anchor the hood range correctly and it fell from the wall hitting my husband on the head almost slicing his head open and damaging the hood range. Didnt install the cabinets correctly (they are off centered and not level) and the drawers dont shut properly. Installed electric fixture incorrectly and tried to cover it up with bigger electric plates then caulked it so you cant take it off without ripping the wall up. Didnt remove old flooring as instructed and placed new cabinets over it. Installed kitchen window wrong and insurance company dropped us because of it. He also installed the cabinets/sink off centered from kitchen window, I asked him to correct it, but he kept giving me excuses why he couldnt. 8 months after I fired him, he changed his business name then he tired to put me in collections for $9006.96. He was paid $3000 upfront before being fired (Check 109 for $1000 cleared on 3/5/21 and check 191 for $2000 cleared on 3/9/21). Took product I paid for after he was fired. Didnt remove any of the debris removed from the kitchen, just left it in my back yard in a pile, we had to take it to the city dump. I paid for ALL material he just had to go pick it up from Lowes. Stopped showing up to the job after he got his stimulus money. Total job should have been $5500. Job was for kitchen ******** dinning room ******** ********* Nothing was started in dinning room or pantry. No contract signed because he gave me 3, each one different. I have ALL of the receipts for everything bought by me or with my Lowes card. Bought things with my Lowes card that was for his personal use, not associated for the job. I also have all corresponding texts between ****** Haskin and myself. I will file a civil claim if he doesnt stop harassing me and trying to defraud me.Business response

THIS ****** HASKIN WITH SOUTH TEXAS RENOVATIONS OWNER AND OPERATOR. I'M SORRY TO HEAR THAT U HAVE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH OUR WORK HAD U CONTACTED ME TO COME FIX IT WE WOULD'VE GLADLY COME BY TO FIX ANY ISSUES YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD. WHY U WAITED 8 MONTHS TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST ME I DO NOT KNOW. STILL IF U HAVE ANY PROBLEMS FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME. I CONSIDER THIS MATTER CLOSED UNLESS YOU FEEL OTHERWISE GOOD DAY. I WILL STOP ALL COLLECTIONS AT THIS TIME.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I must note that if I receive any further 3rd party collection letters I will file legal actions against this company. I have considered this matter closed since you were asked to leave my property and your services were no longer needed.
