Allied Credit Union refused to apply a payoff check in a timely matter. The payoff was rushed to the branch which they refused to process and apply the payment. I spoke with Allied and they said payment was in the mail and will be posted its awaiting the payment to be processed. I had to Uber to the branch because my legs are amputated do to an illness, however the branch was closed due to Covid 19 and the Uber driver did not feel comfortable with going through drive through. The credit union posted the payment the day after the holiday because they were closed for the holiday then in turned lied and said the payment would be posted by friday in which it was not. Next, prior to this my daughter notified the branch and they refused to give her information on the accounts, she had written authorization to close the checking account and the business banking accounts, reason being I was unable to stop auto payments from coming through. After departing the hospital I attempted to notify the branch of my surgery and close the accounts over the phone, however they refused to causing numerous over drafts to continue on the account, then charging off the account charging me several hundred dollars in overdraft fees. Also discriminated against me for my credit score. At the time of the loan and credit card application my credit score was 758, however a friend a white male whom has a 639 credit score, with charge offs on his credit was approved for a credit card with a ******* limit, meanwhile I was only approved for ****** in which I have perfect credit. In addition to this they reported this auto loan late a 30 day late in the same month they accepted the payoff dropping my credit score from 797 to 609 when I called the branch spoke with someone she said nothing she could do, laughed and hung up the phone. I hereby request they update my credit report to reflect no 30 day lates, refund all nsf fees in oct and nov 2021 and increase my credit card limit to *******

We received a payoff check from Carmax.  The check was dated Thursday, January 13, 2022.  The payment was credited to the loan on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Considering there was a weekend and a federal holiday, it is my opinion the payment was posted timely.  We do not hold checks.  As soon as we receive them, they are credited to the account. Of course, we have no control over when the check is actually received in the mailed.

In terms of a branch being closed for COVID, we did have lobby closures in January due to several COVID outbreaks.  Whenever a lobby is closed, the drive thru is always open and our other branches are fully open. Unfortunately, theres not a lot we can do about a COVID outbreak except try to keep our staff and members safe and healthy.

Regarding the checking account, if an account is negative, we are unable to close it until it is brought current.

We report loans as delinquent to the credit bureaus if a payment/payoff is received more than 30 days past the due date.  Mr. ******* loan had late payments in June, August, September, November, December, and January.  There was a pattern of slow pays on the account.

Due to the number of slow payments on the auto loan and the fact that the credit card is currently past due, we will not be increasing the credit card limit.  Additionally, **************** reported under penalty of perjury that his account with Allied FCU was fraudulent, and he was the victim of identity theft.  This is confusing because if it is identity theft then I dont understand the purpose of the BBB complaint.  I am happy to provide the documentation on this if needed.  Also, Ive never seen a case of identity theft where the car is sold, and the loan is subsequently paid in full.
