The bill in question is 2608-TAP30274, for $******.It was paid in full using my primary checking account bill pay service; mailed by the bill pay service provider on 10/26/23 for delivery 11/02/23. Both dates are documented on my *********************** system, and can be provided.We were gone from home for most of December and into January 2024.Upon our return, I found the payment had been returned by TAP, marked "Void" and "Paid in full". I have that voided check. I failed to keep the envelope in which it came.On January 3 (the day we returned home), I reached out to TAP. I was told that "no" the bill was not paid. I inquired about the voided check returned to me almost a month ago. I was told -- in the bluntest language -- that I had not sent them a check, and they had not processed or returned anything from me. She made it clear with her tone and verbiage that I was lying to her. Rather than pick a fight, I offered to resend a check. She said 'no' if I don't pay right now, the account will go to collections. I refused to do that, and told her if that occurred I would not deal with a bill collector, period. But I would get TAP paid using my normal means.I immediately reprocessed payment for ******. My bill pay provider records that the payment was sent 1/4/24 for delivery 1/11/24. My bill pay provider does not show the check cashed as of today.Today (1/22/24) I was contacted by a bill collector demanding payment plus penalties. I told them I had paid the bill . . . twice! That statement resulted in their demand being repeated. I stated I would not pay them. I will not discuss the situation ever again with them.I wanted to get this filed with you today. I can upload the original (returned) check, and my bill pay providers tracking of both checks, confirming the dates above.Resolution desired is 1) ensure on-time payment is shown in TAP records; 2) no record or adverse record w/any credit reporting agency.Thank you BBB!*********************
