unfortunately, we have a bad experience to buying a car at this dealership.we bought a car a few months ago that had a clean carfax , but I recently noticed that the car had a front end accident, I emailed to Vandergriff Acura several times and they said to take the car in for inspection, but they just wasted my time.we had trust them business but the seller was not reliable, because the car had an accident and they did not tell this fact.unfortunately , they are not even willing to compensate for their mistakes. They were just trying to sell us another car!!!!in my opinion ; it is better to have the car you want to buy inspected by an inspector before buying a car here.Review from Carolyn S

I took my 2012 Acura TSX in on 1-24-23 to get the tint replaced. When setting up the appointment the week before, the Service Mgr suggested that I also get the headlights refurbished at a cost of $180. I agreed & made the appointment. I took the car in & was offered a Lyft ride back to my house. During the course of the day, I got a text from the Service Advisor saying they had done a Multi-Point Inspection & that my battery needed immediate attention. I called the Service ************ said it needed to be replaced. I had purchased the battery at that dealership. As a matter of fact I bought the vehicle there brand new in 2012. I asked the advisor if the battery was still under warranty. He said let me check. He came back yes, it's under warranty. I asked if he would replace it? He said yes. Around 1 pm that same day I received a text saying my car was ready & if I needed a ride to pick it up. I declined the offer because a friend was going to drop me off. When I arrived they took me to the cashier. There I paid for the headlight refurbish. The invoice said a battery test was performed & failed the load test. It also said the battery was replaced & anti-corrosion protection was applied. I paid the invoice & the Service Advisor brought my vehicle around to me. I first looked at the ********* looked fine. The refurbished headlights looked okay but I expected a little bit better. I then asked to look at the battery. When the advisor raised the hood, the old battery was still in place. I said that is not a new battery. He took it back to get one installed .I waited & went inside to mention it to the Service Manager. He asked if I was having issues with the battery. I said no, in the course of the technicians inspecting my car the said I needed a new battery, & that it was under warranty & would be replaced but that did not happen. He just said we will replace it now. I was taken aback by his lack of customer service. I told him they have lost me as a customer. .Review from Kellie H

They are pushy, rude, won't answer a simple yes or no question. I have never had this bad experience at a dealership before!!! Showed us a car that was NASTY!! It had dog hair all of the seats, spilt drink in the cup holders that was dried. Cosmetic damage that I had to point out as well as damage inside the car. Missing fender, a big dent on the front bumper, a huge crack on the back bumper that was about to fall off the car. All of this was not disclosed to us even when I expressed how far we were driving. I wish there were zero stars.Review from Marie L

If I could I would put ZERO STARS. I have bought 2 cars here at Vandergriff Acura. Both cars have had the car fax completed. 2015 ****** Camry the trunk and back seats were always soaking wet when it rained. We are having the exact same problem with the 2018 Santa fe we purchased a month ago. For the Santa fe they were rude and said that I would have to pay for the diagnose to figure out where the water is coming from. What is the reason of writing a complaint if nothing will be done, everything is just swept under the rug.I suggest do not buy a vehicle with Vandergriff Acura. I am not happy, I will never purchase a car again here nor will I recommend anyone buy a vehicle here. They are over price, and **** up the prices. The sticker says one thing but at the end you pay way more.Review from Antonio D

I went to Vandergriff Acura on 1/22/22 because I was told by Kal E. that I was approved for car loan. I had a trade in a 2000 Ford Expedition in good condition that they offered $1345 for the trade in. I arrived at the dealership and Kal who is a manager teamed me and my wife up with a sales rep. They offer a 18.99% interest rate and the note was $670 on a 2015 MDX Acura with 81k miles after being there for over two hours. This is why I did the application online to avoid the long wait time. But that’s not even the problem I refused the offer the sales rep made and begin to leave the lot. Kal the manager comes out and say hey it’s been slow for us today I can knock your payments to $500 a month for 72 months. The interest rate went down just that fast to 10% interest rate. How does that happen when the bank is the one making the interest rate. It makes you think was it at 10% the whole time and they were trying to rip me off. Before I got to the lot I explained to Kal the manager I wanted my payments at $400 a month but offered me $670. My trade in they only offered $1000 and this was without even looking or inspecting the truck. So I left the lot because I felt they was trying to rip me off. This was on a Saturday on Monday the 24th a sale rep called me name Logan. He sent me a screenshot of what my payments would be which is $507 for 72 months at 10% interest rate. But they had an option amount on the screenshot that totaled over $2500. I asked Logan what was this he stated that’s all what we did to the car. Dealer prep $1999, Wheel locks $105.00, and Window tint $399. I asked how can y’all charge for something that’s already done to the car. He stated that’s the new way of selling cars now. I sent him a screenshot of what the dealer prep is saying online that it range from $100 to $400 but it’s just a way for them to make more money have them remove it before you sign. Logan replied stating to me he understands but this is the new way of buying a car.Review from Marie Claire

A friend of mine was referred to Vandergriff Acura in Arlington by a friend of his, who allegedly had connections with this dealership. My friend, in desperate need of a vehicle, was advised to go to Vandergriff Acura where he was assured a car, as long as he had $500 down, no matter what his credit was. That is what he was told. This sounded suspicious to me as, you can have connections with a dealership, but not with the underwriting department at a bank. Nonetheless, my friend went to the dealership, only to have his credit ran and was eventually told he needed a co-signer. I wasnt surprised. He sat at the dealership for hours trying to find a co-signer. Eventually, I asked how much the car was and the car note. He was told the car was $10,000 and the car note would be about $300 a month. I figured that was something I could afford, if he defaulted, so I agreed to co-sign. This is where the issues began.I get to the dealership to sign as a co-signer, only to discover the car was actually $21,000 with a $600 a month car note. I was shocked. My friend assured me he could pay it and I believed him. However, we get in the finance managers office and I notice that I am the primary buyer. I was told that was the way they had to do it and my friend had to be MY cosigner. I also noticed that the paperwork had his and my address the same, which was my address. I asked about this. The manager said the bank required they list it that way. After an intensive investigation and speaking with the lien holder, I discovered that my friends information was not even used as a consideration for the loan. Basically, it was all me. He never even submitted his financial information, insurance, nothing to them. The loan approved was based solely on my information. Why didnt they just tell me this? No. Why didnt they just tell him this? Why didnt they just tell him they could not approve him for a car? He was lied to - someone actually told him his credit was good, the bank just required a little extra. No! The bank required a completely different person. My friend now believes that he has all these rights to this car. Even if he does, he shouldnt because he did not even contribute to this car. It was ALL me! I was in the ************* Air Force and have purchased over 10 cars from various dealerships across the country. I understand there are some white lies that come with the territory, but this was an outright deception. Vandergriff should have told us both the truth! He did not qualify for a car. And I did not need him as a co-signer. I could have purchased this car on my own. I accept my portion of responsibility because I did not ask enough questions because I trusted them. This was a grave mistake on my part and I certainly regret it. It infuriates me that he and I were lied to, saying I needed a co-signer. The dealership just wanted to help him because they know someone he knows. But how does that help me? Someone attempting a sincere gesture from the kindness of their heart, out of genuine concern for another person. My friend now believes he has all these rights to this car that he simply does not have. He actually thinks its his car. Its not. Its mine. Why would they lie to use? As said, even if he does have some rights, why would you put two people on a loan, who are not married - you know Im just a friend. I said this numerous times. Only to find out, hes not a co-signer, hes a co-borrow. This dealerships attempt to overtly give my friend a car when he did not qualify for it is embarrassing. In light of this information, I am refinancing the car in just my name, which is unfortunate for him. I am doing this because there is no reason my friend and I should have entwined destinies when it was not required in the first place. This could have been avoided by telling him truth: he could not get a car! He was led on. Im sorry but that is the truth. This complaint is more for him than it is for me because I have a car. He, however, will not after this. This dealership lied to a bank about, not only me and my friends relationship, but also his address and other pertinent information. This is gross negligence and I am ashamed I was a part of it. There is a danger when you only see a situation in positive terms, always looking for ways to get the best possible outcome. When you place too much emphasis on a narrow definition of success, you certainly become blind to the harm you could do.
